Overall management of all Employee Relations within the City of Yarra Council. The design, development and articulation of HR strategic plans aligned to the City of Yarra strategic and business plans. Acting in the HR Executive Manager role where I participate as a member of the City of Yarra Executive leadership team and ensure that OH&S, Organisation Development, HR Services and Employment Relations functions are provided to the organisation with a strong focus on cultural and customer service improvement and best practice. Ensuring the efficient and effective workforce management of the CSC (110 staff). This included being responsible for workforce planning and strategy, recruitment, performance management, training and managing absentee levels. Managing the physical and electronic registration and allocation of all complaints received nationally. Managing the Adelaide based call centre providing advice to the public on the progress of complaints and direction and referral on general workplace disputes. Assisting the Director CSC to enhance the CSC s performance by optimising staff opportunities to be effective and productive and meet targets. Leading and coordinating and conducting investigations involving a range of medium to large national organisations. Managing the physical resources required by teams of Workplace Inspectors in Adelaide, Hobart and Sydney in order for them to carry out office based investigations. This included ensuring OH&S compliance and awareness, coordinating the supply and maintenance of the necessary office equipment, IT requirements and records management systems. Providing a leadership to Team Leaders in the CSC through coaching, mentoring and strategically matching individual strength to specific tasks or projects. Managing the recruitment and performance of all CSC staff. Providing written and verbal advice in relation to Workplace Ombudsman process and potential breach of the Workplace Relations Act. Assessing the legal standing and jurisdiction of employment agreements and contracts.
