Being a high performing organisation DM Reference (DM#): Position Title Position Number Division Unit Classification/Band Employment Status Salary Position reports to Location Coordinator Dam Safety Systems Customer Infrastructure & Assets Dam Safety Band D Ongoing / Full Time Total Remuneration Package In Excess Of $106, including superannuation Manager, Dam Safety Tatura Position Contact David Jeffery ( ) Approver/Approval Date SLF 25 April 2018 Role Purpose The role is located within the Customer Infrastructure and Assets (CIA) Division - Dam Safety Unit which is responsible for monitoring, reporting and supporting the Corporation s compliance with the dam safety provisions of the DELWP Statement of Obligations and the MDBA Memorandum of Understanding; this includes management of the Corporation s dam safety risk portfolio. In close consultation with other support units the Dam Safety Unit is accountable for the development and maintenance of contemporary best practice business systems to guide the delivery of all aspects of Dam Safety management. This includes the monitoring, surveillance and reporting of behaviour; the setting of standards for operation, maintenance, renewal and capital works activities; and the auditing of compliance with agreed standards, for all of the Corporations dams and related assets. The Coordinator Dam Safety Systems manages continuing review and update the Dam Safety Management Systems including development, review and update of comprehensive Operation and Maintenance Manuals, Dam Safety Emergency Plans (DESP) and Flood Incident Management Plans (FIMP) for all of Goulburn-Murray Water s dams; and oversees the initial incorporation of dams related asset information and surveillance, monitoring, operations, maintenance and renewals practices into the Corporate Asset Management Information System. Key Accountabilities Manage the review and update of the Dam Safety Management systems including comprehensive Operation & Maintenance Manuals and other related Manuals and plans for all the Corporation s dams and related structures within agreed scope, budget and timelines. Oversee the incorporation of Dams asset information and surveillance, monitoring, operations, maintenance and renewals procedures into the Corporate Asset Management Information System. Maintain an awareness of and participate in the development of asset management practices related to dams and in particular innovative operation and maintenance practices.

2 Plan, direct and co-ordinate the work of a group of employees, contractors and consultants Monitor work and provide professional guidance to ensure professional standards and objectives are met Undertake strategic project/program activities addressing complex professional services issues and functions Apply advanced professional knowledge and judgement to the resolution of complex professional and business problems Prepare regular reports on work group or defined project/program performance against objectives Assist with Dams related emergency response and operations as and when required. 5 The Key Selection Criteria for this role are the capabilities in which candidates for this position must demonstrate competence. KSC Selection Criteria 1 Demonstrated ability to effectively program and manage resources to satisfy competing objectives. 2 Highly developed interpersonal and negotiation skills together with the ability to clearly articulate with staff, other agency personnel and consultants. 3 Extensive practical experience in the operation, maintenance and renewal works of large dams and/or heavy industrial plant and associated works. 4 Proven ability in the implementation, review and utilisation of asset maintenance information systems and techniques. 5 Demonstrates advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Visio, Excel and PowerPoint. 6 Ability to interpret and present complex processes into simple process maps and work instructions. Experience using Microsoft Office suite of applications including Word, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook Extensive experience in the development and documentation of works procedures and their implementation and use within asset and maintenance management systems is required.
