Our recruitment process When you apply for a role with us, we will ask you about yourself so we can assess your suitability and potential. We take recruitment very seriously as career choices are important to potential employees. You may initially interview over the phone and have a face-to face interview or be invited to a selection centre. You will also need to pass a basic numeracy and literacy assessment. Sometimes we hold selection centres which is an opportunity for you to get a true understanding of the role you have applied for and the company. It involves group and individual tasks and it also affords you the opportunity to meet with employees doing the job, some of the management and training team. 3 Meet the trainer - Ross Lang The Training Programme Insight into our commitment to you in our Training Programme Ross Lang SALES AND TECHNICAL TRAINER (5 YEARS) I started work for I4R back in September 2009 as an outbound sales advisor. I was attracted to the role due to the working hours, the uncapped bonus scheme and the friendly environment I experienced when visiting the business for my interview. I was also told about the great opportunities for progression. I worked hard during the training as I was new to insurance and knew that this was where the foundations of my career would be built. It was really enjoyable and I am proud to say that I achieved several sales in the first week. It wasn t long before I was asked to help cover for a manager and I took this opportunity with both hands. Within my first year in the company I went from an Advisor, to a Deputy Team Manager and then on to manage my first team. I was then on a development plan which helped me acquire the skills to become a Team Manager. Over the coming years I was asked to share my experience and expertise in other areas of the business. I get a great deal of satisfaction from seeing someone new to the business work hard and follow their coaching to give themselves the best chance of maximising their potential. It is very rewarding for me when they thank me for all my help. After the company was acquired by AJG I was very pleased to successfully apply for a full time role in a newly established, National training team as a Sales and Technical Trainer. Since that time a lot of hours and hard work has gone in to re writing the training material for a very comprehensive, 5 week training programme that all new advisors to the business are privileged to undertake. All in all I can honestly say that I very much enjoy my job and being part of the AJG family. The benefits we receive are now far more attractive than what I have experienced before. There is also fantastic opportunity for development proven by the amount of my friends and colleagues that now represent senior positions across the business. I have learnt how the system works, how to work as part of a team and have gained extensive experience with regards to sales and the insurance industry. I have always been highly motivated by the opportunity to work in this professional organisation and with peers within the team which I hope will enable me to reach goals not only singularly but as a team and I am looking forward to achieving targets as well as being compliant. Training sessions have involved group discussions, being introduced to Senior Managers alongside product knowledge, systems and sales training. I believe that the knowledge I have gained so far is a huge step in the right direction towards success. I applied to work at Insure4Retirement part of AJG because the company is worldwide and has afforded me the proper training and development I need to succeed in my new career. I was introduced by a family member, this reassured me that the company would provide me with the tools to launch and develop my career within the Group. I had been looking for a new career and had not done anything like this before as I had been a hairdresser but I wasn t recruited based upon experience it was about attitude, aptitude and personality. I am really glad I have the opportunity and feel part of something special. I have got lots of new friends and I am working in a friendly environment where I am now learning and developing my skills. I cannot wait to help customers with choosing the right product for insuring their house!

4 Career Development Opportunities Chris Wade SENIOR TEAM MANAGER (5 YEARS) I left Bournemouth University in 2009 with a 2:1 degree after spending 4 years studying Business Information Technology. I always had the aim to work within a business that sold a great product and one that could offer me the chance to develop my skills and knowledge that I learnt on this varied course. I applied for a sales role at Insure4Retirement in Bournemouth and entered into a telesales role in Home Insurance. I continued to develop my personal skills, with the support of the business and after 18 months I was promoted to a Deputy Team Leader. After 2 years in the business I was promoted to Team Leader, a role that really suits my motivational and inspirational character. With 2 years experience managing a team of 10 sales agents I was successful in my most recent application for a Senior Team Leader role. There have been plenty of ups and downs during my career here however the positives always outweigh any negatives, it is a great place to work with great people, there are great prospects and I have always been rewarded with the hard work and effort I have put in here. I have recently recruited a new team of agents that have just completed training, and I am pleased that I joined them in training allowing me to develop them from Day 1. I am looking forward to achieving new successes and goals as they experience the AJG journey.
