1 Manager Self-Service (MSS) - Separatin Transactin Hw t Initiate: Using HRCnnect Manager Self-Service (MSS) r Manual Separatin Frm (if required) What t knw abut this transactin: What kinds f Separatins transactins might I be initiating? Vluntary When an emplyee chses t leave n their wn (Nte: Any Vluntary Reasn fr Separatin please attach resignatin letter if available) Invluntary When we are separating an emplyee fr varius reasns (Nte: Please make sure yu speak t yur HR cntact abut this type f separatin especially befre yu initiate it as there may be legal r severance implicatins) What Separatin Reasn d I select? - chse the reasn mst accurately describes the situatin (See Appendix) When separating a Freelance/On-call Emplyee after they have nt wrked, select N Payrll Activity Hw t select the crrect Separatin Dates: Ntificatin Date Date ntified f the separatin, either by the emplyee r by HR (invluntary) Last Day Wrked (Separatin Date) Last day emplyee is cnsidered part f the rganizatin Effective Date (Last Day Paid) Last day the emplyee will be paid IMPORTANT- befre yu start yur transactin: 1. Start this prcess the mment yu knw that smene is separating Is this a terminatin that requires 24 hur payut by state law (i.e. Califrnia)? D yu have access t a cmputer t use MSS, r will yu need t use manual frm? 2. If this is a vluntary separatin Yu can initiate using MSS. Remember t attach any dcumentatin yu might have (resignatin letter, etc.) Nte: If yu are unable attach these items, it will nt hld up the prcessing f the transactin 3. Make sure yu understand what the different separatin dates mean Review the definitins prvided abve 4. Indicate Remaining Vacatin Days / Reassign Direct Reprts t a new manager (if applicable) Steps t cmplete a Separatin Transactin in Manager Self-Service (MSS): 1. Lgin t HRCnnect by entering yur Emplyee ID and unique passwrd n the HR Cnnect hme page

2 2. Once yu've lgged in, yu can view yur list f direct reprts by selecting My Emplyee Infrmatin 2a. T initiate a jb change, select Initiate Separatin 3. Yu will see a list f yur Direct Reprts. Chse Actin next t the Emplyee yu will be initiating the separatin

3 4. Select the Effective date 5. Click Cntinue t prceed t next screen Nte: When initiating a separatin in MSS please make sure that yu are chsing the right assignment number. Sme emplyee s wrk fr multiple brands and chsing the wrng assignment will cause the emplyee t be separated frm all assignments. 6. Input the 3 required separatin dates: -Last Day Paid -Ntificatin Date* -Last Day Wrked (Separatin Date) Manager Quick Tip Please find additinal infrmatin n these separatin dates belw: *If ntificatin date is unknwn please use last day wrked date Ntificatin Date: The date the emplyee ntified (either verbal r in writing) ELC they are separating (vluntary) r the date management ntified the emplyee they wuld be separating (invluntary). Nte: If ntificatin date is unknwn please use last day wrked date Effective Date (Last Day Paid): The last day we cnsider the individual t be an emplyee f the rganizatin (this is usually the same date as Last Day Wrked but culd be different with apprval frm HR) Last Day Wrked (Separatin Date): This is the last day physically wrked by the emplyee Fr invluntary separatins, it s mst likely that all 3 dates will be the same.

4 7. Chse the Separatin Reasn frm the list 8. In Separatin Cmments: Include Vacatin Payut 9. Click Next t prceed 10. Attach any supprting dcuments (i.e.vluntary Separatin Resignatin letter) 11. Click Submit and the prcess is cmplete Manager Quick Tip Once yu submit, yu will see a cnfirmatin f yur transactin and will receive an ntificatin cnfirming the same Yu will receive a secnd ntificatin when the prcess is cmplete
