1 Position Description Position Information Position: Environment & QA Systems Coordinator Incumbent: Location: Mokai Factory Date: December 2017 Job Purpose The Environment & QA systems coordinator is responsible for the administration support of the company s compliance programs across both quality systems and effluent management areas of the business. The Environment & Systems coordinator shall ensure that all Company Standards and Objectives are met with regard to quality, safety and environmental regulatory obligations. Quality assurance systems compliance and HACCP systems 3. Environment, Health, Safety & Risk Management and Compliance 1. Effluent treatment plant monitoring & general maintenance. 2. Generation of regulatory management reports for Environment Waikato. 3. Irrigation planning and system maintenance 4. Irrigation of treated waste water 5. Liaising with property managers 6. Sampling and analysis of effluent and treated waste water 7. Plan & Coordinate bi product disposal. 8. Assists and supports the monitoring, control and reporting of labour and material budgets, targets and performance. 9. Support and assist process improvement initiatives in the Plant 1. Conduct and manage all product testing requirements and results including specific customer requirements. 2. Assist and support all auditing functions both internal and external 3. Support Technical manager in RMP/HACCP systems implementation and maintenance thereof. 4. Support Technical manager in OSH procedures implementation and maintenance thereof. 5. Manage cleaning contractors as required. 6. Organise couriers for product and wastes water sampling 7. Maintain site appearance. 1. Assist and support in the development and implementation of appropriate health, safety and risk management strategies and plans to ensure OSH compliance and minimize the Company s exposure in all ways. 2. Ensure that the Company s operations comply with all statutory requirements. 3. Identify and implement effluent and air discharge reduction plans and manage consistent performance thereof. 4. Assist and supports a healthy and safe work environment in the plant. 1. Compliance against all regulatory and manufacturing requirements are achieved to the highest standards. 2. All service, budgetary and efficiency related targets are achieved. 3. Process improvements are initiated and championed. 4. The Executive Team is able to make sound decisions through the quality of reports, analysis and advice provided. 1. Quality management systems and policies are in place and comply with quality system requirements. 2. The disciplines of quality achievement and performance are established and practiced in the Plant. 3. Quality and wastage reduction targets are achieved. 4. Products comply with customer, NZFSA and CODEX specifications. 5. Tests and procedures are understood and evaluated for product modification and investigation if required. 1. 5 Person Specification Qualifications and Technical Skills A relevant technical or science tertiary qualification. Relevant Environment and/or quality control/auditing qualifications Experience in the development and management of quality systems and knowledge of the regulatory and compliance environment for food manufacture and effluent management. Experience and knowledge required for effective performance in the position Proven experience in Environment and quality systems compliance including: Achieving excellence in industry regulatory and manufacturing compliance Maintaining strong relationships with staff and external stakeholders Establishing and fostering Quality System disciplines Maintain and review systems, processes and procedures to improve efficiencies and compliance Fostering a culture that is consistent with the values of Miraka Experience working with Maori Trusts, Incorporations and organization s Demonstrated understanding of Maori protocols and values.
