1 Fueling County Vehicles All drivers that use a prokee to fuel County vehicles please, enter the correct mileage and Kronos # as it drives our preventative maintenance program. The fleet fuel technicians monitors the fuel usage and by entering the correct information ensures the accuracy of the fuel report. By not entering the correct information causes our fuel reports to have errors. DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluids) Diesel exhaust fluids are used to make diesel fuel burn cleaner which in turn helps sustain the environment. Cobb Fleet has implemented a new procedure for DEF Fluids. Now you only need to have your prokee programmed once to get DEF fuel. See the fleet fuel technician on 2nd floor above the car shop. This procedure improves efficiency by tracking the amount of fluid being used. Prokee

5 How to Create an Effective Succession Plan? Succession planning is a process for identifying and developing new leaders who can replace old leaders when they leave, retire or die. Cobb County Fleet Management staff consist of many longtime experience mechanics. And as with anything, all good things must come to an end. Under the leadership of Fleet Director Al Curtis, Cobb County Fleet Management has a plan. Al Curtis is quoted to have said, Everyone has value and can contribute to the success of an organization. It s up to the supervisor to find where that employee fits, and praise the wins and work on the losses. Valuable employees may retire, leave for a better opportunity and/or pass on. Cobb Fleet Management s cure for those situations is requiring additional training and certification requirements, measuring capabilities by skill level instead of time, and encouraging mentorship so the less experienced employees can learn from the more experienced employees. Allowing the employees the opportunity to task certify allows them to work at there own pace without the worries of deadlines. Cobb Fleet also hires externally, not just internally in order to expand the qualified candidate pool. Fleet Management is constantly looking for more improved ways to better manage operations.. Workplace Workout 10 ways to get fit on the job More than 75% of the dollars spent on health care in the U.S. are spent on preventable diseases. Meetings on the go. Conduct meetings while walking around because studies show that people think more clearly when on there feet. Lunchtime walking group. Lunchtime walking is always a popular option. You and your co-workers can hold each other accountable for sticking with it and regular exercise. Trade in coffee breaks for walking breaks. Instead of resting in the lounge, wake yourself up by taking a walk to get the blood without coffee. Find an alternative desk. Though you will still have your home desk, try and find an empty room to work in and move back and forth from it a few times a day. Daily Stretches. Take a break every couple of hours and stretch for 5 minuets. Stand up! You are burning more calories when you are standing than when you are sitting. Keep fitness gear around.
