Listings older than 90 days will be removed unless a member resubmits their listing LEAD MECHANIC/EDUCATION ASSOCIATE Organization Founded in 1971 as a 501(c) 3, the Foundation in an agreement with the Texas Historical Commission, manages and provides financial support to the State owned National Museum of the Pacific War to: Preserve and exhibit the material history of the war in the Pacific and Indo-China during World War II; Offer and participate in programs that honor all veterans past and present and in programs that provide strategic insights into national security issues affecting our country; Support education concerning the American experience in the Pacific Area during World War II; Preserve and exhibit the material history of Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz; and, Provide the public, researchers, teachers and historians with a readily accessible platform for the exploration of the War in the Pacific during World War II. While working collaboratively with all employees and volunteers in accomplishing the above mission, the Education Department has the lead in developing programs on- and off-campus. Position The Lead Mechanic/ Education Associate reports to the Director of Education and works collaboratively with the Living History Coordinator, the Museum and Foundation staff.this position maintains the vehicle collection and will also assist the education and living history programs. This is a new position that will evolve as the education department expands its offerings and interaction with the public to better accomplish the mission. Responsibilities Maintain the vehicle collection and establish vehicle maintenance logs Maintain the vehicle storage /shop building

2 Monitor and interact with visitors to the vehicle storage building as needed Act as Armorer for Living History Program and other associated programs Recruit and train individuals who have volunteered to maintain the vehicles Help maintain the education collection Work within the Education Department to develop and coordinate all programs Participate in digital and physical museum outreach which may include off site programs Other duties as assigned Qualifications Combination of at least 2 years of experience in a similar position and knowledge working on WWII vehicles Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and the ability to quickly learn new software Excellent communication skills, both written and oral Flexible and adaptable style Working knowledge of WWII weapon systems Ability to work both independently without close oversight, but also a team player who will productively engage with others at varying levels of seniority within and outside the Foundation High energy and passion for the Museum s mission Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail Some weekend and evening work is required. Able to lift 50lbs and climb a ladder Must have a valid Texas driver s license and able to pass a defensive driving course This is a Full-Time, salaried position in the range of $33,000 - $ 36,000 with health insurance, sick leave, paid vacations, and holidays. Apply online at Assistant Director of Marketing, National Museum of the Pacific War/ Admiral Nimitz Foundation REPORTS TO: Director of Marketing/PR STATUS: FT, Salary, Exempt HOURS: M-F 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; additional hours for job-related functions The Admiral Nimitz Foundation/National Museum of the Pacific War (NMPW) is seeking a forwardthinking, innovative and energetic person to become the new Assistant Marketing Director. In this new position, the Assistant Marketing Director will assist the Marketing Director in promoting the Admiral Nimitz Foundation, National Museum of the Pacific War, and their special events and programs. The selected applicant will manage the social media presence of the organizations and will assist in planning and development of strategies for marketing educational and public programs that will engage and excite both onsite and offsite, including the use of emerging technology and social media. This is the only museum in the continental United States dedicated to the Pacific Theater of World War Two. Located in scenic Fredericksburg, Texas (the birthplace of Fleet Admiral Chester Nimitz,) this is a Texas State Historic Site of the Texas Historical Commission, managed by the Admiral Nimitz Foundation. This public-private partnership has fostered unparalleled growth since 2005; the institution is becoming internationally recognized for the quality of exhibitions. This position will be an employee of the Admiral Nimitz Foundation. RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to): Create and implement a social media calendar Create, post and update digital content on our website and digital platforms Coordinate and execute paid social media strategies Develop strategies and tactics to get the word out about our foundation, museum, and programs and drive traffic to our front door Represent the marketing department at off-site promotional and educational events when needed Deploy successful marketing campaigns and own their implementation from ideation to execution Measure and report performance of marketing campaigns, gain insight and assess against goals Other duties as assigned by the marketing director. REQUIREMENTS: B.S in Marketing, Public Relations or related field Minimum two years experience managing, designing, and implementing marketing campaigns Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proven experience in supervisory, budget and project management. Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement Proven experience in identifying target audiences and in creatively devising and leading across channels marketing campaigns that engage, educate and motivate Strong understanding and experience leveraging social media outlets to both drive traffic and

4 build awareness Demonstrated ability to see the larger organizational picture Strong knowledge and/or interest in Asia-Pacific World War II history a plus Ability to work independently and as part of a team Detail-oriented Has, or is able to get, a Texas Driver s License within sixty days and to pass a defensive driver s education course.
