1 Job Description Job Title School/Department Job Holder Responsible to Communications and Administration Officer (fixed term) Scottish Drama Training Network Vacant SDTN Director Date September 2015 December Job Purpose To lead on the development and management of SDTN marketing and communications activities To assist in creatively developing enhancement opportunities for SDTN membership institutions To organise and collaborate on (as appropriate) a range of workshops, events and masterclasses which support and develop the Scottish Drama Training Network membership Provide administrative support (including financial administration) to SDTN and manage own budget (as appropriate). To contribute towards SDTN strategic and operational planning, as required Generate creative opportunities which support and strengthen the network 2. Duties and Responsibilities In liaison with the SDTN Director, you will be required to undertake the duties and responsibilities outlined below; Organise, produce or assist in (as appropriate) the creation of a range of SDTN events. Manage and deliver SDTN's web and print communications. HR 27/08/2015 1

2 Ensure an effective SDTN administration, including financial administration involving the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports as needed. Responsible for management of own budget, as appropriate Contribute to SDTN's strategic planning and creation of operational plan, as appropriate Organisation of SDTN management team activities such as minute-taking and organisation of meetings. Build relationships with SDTN member institution staff and relevant industry experts currently working with the relevant areas of Theatre, Film, Television and Radio. Act as a representative of SDTN at conference, events and meetings to raise awareness and support the mission of the SDTN. Undertake and participate in SDTN's Career Review Process. Oversee management of SDTN databases and contacts information. Ensure effective line-management of staff (as appropriate). Undertake any other reasonable duties on behalf of the SDTN Director. Scope of the Job Financial: Where there is a devolved budget, you will be required to manage that budget effectively under the direction of your line manager and to contribute to the regular review of value for money. Responsible for the day to day management of SDTN budget and to support the Director in income generation. Staff: Line-management of staff as appropriate. Others: You will be required to liaise with the Network's member institutions, external agencies, organisations and individuals as well as the Chair, Director and Technical Theatre Skills Officer, in order to carry out the duties listed above and to be a public contact for SDTN, in many instances, responding and dealing with issues on behalf of the Director of SDTN. 4. Context Framework and Boundaries: As a member of the Scottish Drama Training Network staff team, you will be required to work within the Scottish Drama Training Network Strategic Plan. In addition, while based at RCS, you are required to work within the Conservatoire Regulations, Health and Safety Regulations, Policies and procedures and Quality Assurance processes required by the Conservatoire as well as the appropriate departmental policies. You will be expected to actively engage in health and safety and to be responsible for your own health and safety in the course of your work HR 27/08/2015 5

Technical Theatre Skills Officer, Scottish Drama Training Network. b) Outside SDTN: Staff and students in the Network's member institutions. Industry organisations and practitioners across all relevant areas of SDTN's remit. 6. Knowledge and Experience Qualifications: Essential: Educated to degree level in an arts or communications subject area or equivalent relevant experience. Experience: Essential: Experience of working in an arts or education organisation in an administrative role Communications experience Desirable: Previous management experience HR 27/08/2015 6

7 Knowledge and Skills: Essential: Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively with people at a variety of levels across the cultural and creative industries and the education sector. Experience in the Education and/or creative industries. Excellent organisation skills. Ability to prioritise work on own initiative. Excellent IT Skills including Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Powerpoint as well as Wordpress and Adobe Creative Suite. 7. Additional Information SDTN is located as a guest organisation within the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. 8. Complexity Contributing to the creation of new systems.
