2 Sessin 1: INITIAL PLANNING Suggested Date Range: Between May 1 and June 30 Gal: The purpse f this checklist is t facilitate discussin f prerequisite infrmatin, tasks, and planning prir t and during the implementatin f AIMSweb. The secnd purpse is t ensure that cnsideratins are made fr identificatin f key staff that will be leading implementatin and that preparatry wrk is cmpleted befre the fall f yur schl year. Suggested items fr discussin and advanced planning: Address Technlgy Checklist: Determine/Identify: Identify schl based implementatin team members fr the site(s). (This may include general educatin, special educatin, instructinal supprt staff and student service team members) and their rles with regard t implementatin: Identify specific 2-week testing windws fr when Benchmarking testing will ccur (fall-winter-spring) FALL: WINTER: SPRING: Identify wh will d testing fr Benchmark (and Strategic Mnitring). Example: (teams, teachers, etc.?)

3 Wh will be tested (which grades/schls)? What measures will be tested and scred at thse grade levels? Where will students be tested and hw will this be rganized? By whm? Plan fr preparatin f teaching staff when will they be trained, and by whm? What are the limitatins t this schl(s) implementatin? Wh are the teaching staff at each grade level wh will be invlved with AIMSweb? Will there by new staff teaching/wrking at this schl site in the fall wh will need t be trained? Hw will the schl prepare parents s that they understand the AIMSweb system? 3

4 Determine hw and when Inter-Rater Reliability spt checks will be cmpleted, and by whm: Appint a benchmark testing crdinatr and/r Lcal AIMSweb Manager(s) fr yur site(s): Schedule and plan fr future Pwer meetings fr teachers/staff. These may be brief meetings by which data are gathered and decisins made regarding instructin based upn the team s interpretatin f said data. Cnsider ther venues that are used in schls t discuss data f all types. Invlve and/r integrate with thse systems t rganize discussins f AIMSweb data. (Examples may include: Grade level team meetings? Staff meetings? Other?) List pssibilities belw: Prepare assessment materials in advance. Decide hw printing f prbes will be dne, when they will be disseminated and by which staff: 4

5 Determine apprpriate lcatins where physical testing will ccur (e.g., library, classrm, hallway, etc.). This may vary by schl site: Prepare testing schedule [e.g., wh will test which grups/grades, where, and n which date(s)/time(s)]: Prepare selectin f research, literature/articles fr further preparatin and explratin by staff as needed with regard t CBM, interventins, r ther related tpics pertinent t staff interest r questins: Determine what schl staff s questins remain abut the AIMSweb measures t be used, reliability/validity f AIMSweb, etc. and prvide answers r plan fr answering thse questins during training at the lcal site. 5

Cnsider LAM s need fr presenting AIMSweb Overview f CBM presentatin t staff. Decide n which staff members, LAMs, administratrs, teachers, etc. will have access (lgin access) t AIMSweb data nce the accunt is activated--and at what levels each user will be permitted t access: Develp plan fr gathering required testing materials and digital timers Decide deadline fr when the database imprt prcess will be dne fr Fall and which staff will be respnsible fr this prcess thrughut the year. 6

Determine if teachers/managers be respnsible fr adding students t database-r will there be a rule that all new add-ins will be dne electrnically (recmmended). What prcess will be in place fr mve-in/transfer students that are nt entered int the database? Hw will the database entry be handled? By whm? Will staff enter students int AIMSweb manually r will yu reserve that task exclusively fr data imprt/appending? (This prcess, nce decided upn, will need t be cnsistent thrughut the year t ensure that students are nt duplicated in system.) 7

8 Determine pssible targets/cut scres by grade and measure, if desired: Determine if targets will be the same acrss all schls acrss the implementatin prject. Decide upn using either AIMSweb s Criterin-referenced r Nrm-referenced reprts. Set up AIMSweb database accrdingly. Determine if the schl(s) have already planned fr the interventins they will be using? Determine if staff has been trained in hw t use thse interventins and/r if further staff training is needed. 8
