1 TH PRINC S TRUST - OPRATIONS JOB DSCRIPTION JOB TITL: Head of Community ngagement LOCATION: Cardiff/Birmingham/Belfast/Glasgow/London/Manchester OVRVIW OF ROL: The Prince s Trust helps young people to succeed and reach their potential in life. We work in partnership with colleagues, volunteers and partners across the UK. Our Teams are structured into three nglish regions, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales. Young people are supported through a range of services to develop their confidence and skills to live, learn and earn. As Head of Community you will be a core member of the xecutive Management Team (MT). You will be a dynamic, energetic and passionate leader and communicator with experience of building and managing high impact partnerships. You will have the ability to inspire confidence and engagement, be able to manage multiple projects and stakeholders with ease, have excellent collaboration skills and develop strong working relationships. You will: - Oversee our strategic engagement within our geographies. Work with colleagues to deepen our relationships and become the partner of choice, maximising our reach and transformational impact for young people; - Maintain and disseminate insightful intelligence within our sector and beyond, to ensure we have the right offer of support for young people within our geographies, continuing a cycle of innovation and test and learn approach; - In collaboration with the national Marketing and Communications team, lead and develop our marketing and engagement to support the achievement of our strategic goals, galvanising our communities to champion young people; - Listen to young people and involve them in shaping our future; - ngage and expand The Prince s Trust community, including our ambassadors, Youth Forum and volunteers to mobilise our society around young people as a force of good. - Work closely with our colleagues in Fundraising to ensure we are maximising any funding opportunities from within their geographies / networks and directing them appropriately.

MT decision-making and planning includes a strategic communication and engagement input to enhance our messaging and relationship building; 5. Our Marketing and Communications (MarComms) Manager is inspired to plan and deliver a marketing & communications plan that supports our strategic goals with specific region/country priorities; 6. The communications and engagement skills and competencies of all staff and designated communications champions in the Region/Country are developed and enhanced, increasing our capability and capacity; 7. The Prince s Trust Youth Task Force and Youth Forum mobilises our society around young people as a force of good and supports our wider strategic goals; 8. We have more Prince s Trust Ambassadors who represent The Trust with passion and contribute to our communications and wider community activities across our geographies; 9. We identify the opportunities and have a strategy and design in which we have more and more diverse volunteers contributing and enhancing our work across the spectrum of activities and across the young person journey. 10. We work as a team within and across our geographies to help young people transform their lives by developing the confidence and skills to live, learn and earn; 11. Our Community activity expenditure is managed in accordance with the standards set out by the finance department ensuring effective use of our resources; 12. Our culture drives what we do. The Safeguarding and welfare of children and young people we work with is our priority at The Prince s Trust. This role will require the post holder to have responsibility and management for the safeguarding the children and young people participating in our programmes in accordance with The Prince s Trust safeguarding policies;

Take a lead in ensuring your team complies with all The Trust s policies for working with young people, volunteers, partners, service delivery, recruiting safely and Health and safety. In a leadership role, this will involve sharing responsibilities for the local emergency contact practices. 4 TH PRINC S TRUST - OPRATIONS JOB DSCRIPTION Skills and Knowledge: Strong understanding of the challenges young people within the Trust s target group face. xcellent knowledge of PR, marketing and wider strategic engagement activities. xcellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work with a wide range of external and internal stakeholders. Ability to access key regional partners and build influence and support. High level planning skills to control effective use of resources and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Demonstrate knowledge of the local Prince s Trust provision. Can determine decisions, making trade-offs where appropriate and understand the impact on interrelated areas. xperience: Knowledge of project management techniques. Knowledge of Health and Safety practices and processes. Knowledge of Safeguarding practices and processes Knowledge of the benefits system and how it impacts young people. Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends as required. Strong awareness and understanding of diversity, equal opportunities and ability to translate these into effective action. xperience in the planning and implementation of high profile communications and high level engagement activities. xperience of high profile event planning involving multiple stakeholders. Track record of ability to lead, organize and motivate a diverse team. xperience of developing effective delivery or referral partnerships (e.g. F Colleges, Third Sector, Local/Devolved Government, mployers). xperience of pitching to diverse, high calibre audiences.

Worked with KPIs and other measures to develop a performance and accountability culture.
