1 FY Business Plan Submission Template PREPARING A BUSINESS PLAN SUBMISSION A business plan is a written description of the key activities that a unit is planning on undertaking in FY and how it will carry out these activities. The first step in preparing a business plan is to identify and describe your area s objectives and priorities for FY In collaboration with faculty and staff, you should review the following: Your area s and the College s current business plans The status of your ongoing operations (funded through your base operating budget) and any plans to implement new, or discontinue current, activities Seneca s Strategic and Academic Plans List of FY College priorities this is a list created by the Senior Executive Committee to help focus our efforts and work in the upcoming fiscal year It is critical that you share your proposed plans with your Dean/Director and/or VP for feedback. Each Dean/Director is required to meet with your VP to discuss your Faculty or Department s submission prior to sending your VP your business plan and budget. To help departments and schools provide detailed information about their proposed activities and objectives, a set of questions has been developed about your area s proposed plans, their strategic alignment, their link to the list of FY College 1

The AODA Advisory group recognizes the College obligations under the accessibility standards cuts across the student and employee experience to the infrastructure of the College itself. For students this may affect their success in a term, and/or retention in their chosen program. For employees it may impact their enjoyment and commitment to their place of work resulting in extended absences, which ultimately affects student learning. Staff that are part of the existing AODA Advisory Committee may not be available for support or knowledge due to movement within the College or departure from the College 6) Is your area requesting new funding to support its FY plans and activities?
