5 Job Description Job Summary Establish the strategic direction for economic development in Northeast Florida. Serve as chief economic development representative for the region. Responsible for overall administration and supervision of the JAUSA Partnership. Directs a staff in the areas of Business Development, Marketing, Partner Relations, Investor Relations, Workforce Development and Business Intelligence. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Serves as chief economic development representative for the region. Markets the region to prospects, helps clients evaluate key location issues, find real estate solutions, engage appropriate state and local leaders and utilize research information to develop proposals to companies. Utilizes experience with and knowledge of various aspects of economic development. Develops and maintains cooperative working relationships with regional economic development partners in the seven-county Northeast Florida region, as well as City of Jacksonville-OED, CareerSource Northeast Florida, JAA, JEA, JAPORT, JTA, Enterprise Florida and other local/regional organizations and elected officials. Leads various sales and marketing missions, domestic and international, to market Jacksonville and Northeast Florida to corporate real estate executives and site consultants. Drive thought leadership on economic policy in the region. Represents Chamber and JAUSA Partnership through various public speaking engagements. Advocate on behalf of state and local public policy related to economic development. Develops, promotes and executes strategies for sustainable growth for Jacksonville and Northeast Florida. Maintains memberships and proactive leadership in professional organizations including FEDC, IEDC, NAIOP and IAMC. Solicit public and private investment to support the annual JAUSA program of work. Promotes and cultivates a strong communications network with JAUSA Partnership investors and other Chamber members to maintain strong investor relations, value and involvement. Oversees JAUSA Partnership program of work. Establishes priorities and goals for department. Coaches and evaluates direct reports. Supervise JAUSA Partnership budget process and execution to maximize use of funds and stay within budgeted amounts. Supervise JAUSA Partnership s marketing initiatives to increase visibility of region and increase likelihood that Jacksonville will be short-listed for an economic development project. 5

6 Directs team that produces programs for investor and partner events, including Policy Council, Advisory Council, Quarterly Breakfasts, Quarterly Luncheons and Regional Partner Forums. Serves as Chamber and JAUSA media relations expert on various economic development topics. Represents JAUSA Partnership at appropriate public and private meetings, including Board of Directors, Board of Governors, JAUSA Policy Council and Advisory Council. Education & Experience Requirements: Bachelor s degree in business administration or related field. 10+ years of experience in economic development or related field. Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) preferred. 6
