2 A REAL CHALLENGE, FOR REAL GROWTH, THAT REALLY MATTERS What could be more critical to your institution s long-term health than the choice and cultivation of its future leaders? The Tennessee Bankers Association s Executive Development Academy is a custom program that equips participants with the tools to grow as leaders and to enhance the effectiveness of their banking institutions. The program is intense, demanding, and focused on the real levers of change and is only offered and agreed to by managers who are committed to becoming the leaders of tomorrow. IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL: Value integrity, community, and achieving results the right way Be humble, collaborative, and interested in personal and professional growth Be courageous and resilient enough to confront learning obstacles and overcome them WHAT AN ATTENDEE WILL LEARN: Critical leadership concepts Self-awareness and self-management Performance management and people leadership Clear and compelling communication Strategic habits The keys to building a vibrant culture The Executive Development Academy is not management training it s inside-out leadership development. EDA will challenge participants to move outside their comfort zones, to take developmental risks, and to truly grow as leaders. PROGRAM COMPONENTS INDIVIDUAL LEADERSHIP ASSESSMENT Each participant completes a comprehensive online leadership assessment that measures a wide range of individual factors related to leadership (i.e., personality, critical thinking skills, stress reactions, and leadership style). Additionally, the participant s key stakeholders (boss, peers, and direct reports) complete a 360-degree leadership survey about the participant. PRE-/POST-PROGRAM SURVEYS Prior to Session 1 and following Session 3, surveys are administered to key stakeholders of each participant. The Pre-Program Survey provides baseline data regarding the participant s effectiveness and impact as a leader. The same survey is administered to the same stakeholders after Session allowing for an indication of growth through the 9-month program. INDIVIDUAL DEVELOPMENT PLANNING EDA is not designed to merely increase participants knowledge but rather to cultivate skills and habits that help participants be more effective for their banking institutions. Therefore, each program session concludes with participants creating a development plan. Participants share their development plans with their sponsors, set milestones and deadlines for achievements, and work to make meaningful progress before the next program session.
