3 Working Wardrobes Beginning with a small, one-day career makeover event serving 67 women in 1991, Working Wardrobes has evolved into a full-service career development center, making the power of a paycheck possible for 5,000 clients every year. In 25 years, Working Wardrobes has changed the lives of 80,000 at-risk men, women, young adults and veterans.the ripple effect of our impact reaches spouses, children, friends and neighbors our entire community is uplifted. We offer comprehensive, professional careerreadiness curriculum at no cost to clients. Our career-based training with services including career preparation and coaching, grooming and job placement and professional wardrobing empowers those facing serious life challenges to transform their lives. Our services are offered in an atmosphere of dignity with customized support from our compassionate staff and volunteers. The Power of a Paycheck fuels Working Wardrobes and empowers our clients. 5 Focus on Potential Our Career Success Institute, supported by highly trained human resource and organizational development volunteers, prepares clients to secure meaningful and longlasting employment. We focus on the potential, not the past, with strengths-based services designed to bring out the best in our clients. Unlimited drop-in services, computer courses, continuing career development workshops, and in-person coaching are available to all clients. Nationally certified job skills training provides in-depth skills in the fi elds of customer service/sales and security, as well as additional training in commercial driving and solar installation. The Career Success Graduation celebrates clients completion of an intensive six-week workshop series. During their powerful graduation day, our clients experience a motivational seminar, employer panel discussion and networking opportunities, as well as various grooming services a complete transformation with the help of hundreds of volunteers. Our clients emerge from this unique graduation event with enhanced self-worth, self-esteem and hope, and the confi dence that the power of a paycheck is within their reach. 7 Supporting our Heroes There are nearly two million veterans in California adding up to the largest veteran population in the country. Orange County is home to 132,000 many who are significantly underprepared for civilian life. Employment is one of the most significant barriers they face. Working Wardrobes has been serving veterans for many years. We formalized our services in 2012 with VetNet: A Safety Net for Veterans to reach more veterans in need of support and to better educate the community.
