What you will be doing As a Communications Coordinator you will support the activities of the Communications and Engagement team. The position will work closely with all units and areas of Reconciliation Australia. You will demonstrate interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service. Your organisational skills will enable you to support the unit by managing general administration, managing communications enquiries, assisting with Reconciliation Australia events and accurately maintaining online Reconciliation Australia content. Conditions of engagement This position will be offered on a part-time, fixed-term contract up to 30 June An attractive salary $60,000 per annum, plus superannuation, (pro rata for part-time hours of 28 hours per week) will be offered to the successful applicant. Please note: RA is not classified as a Public Benevolent Institution and is therefore unable to offer taxation benefits currently available under those arrangements. POSITION PURPOSE The Communications Coordinator supports the activities of the Communications and Engagement team and is the first point of contact for all public phone and enquiries. The Coordinator will have a strong customer service focus, be well organised and capable of developing and implementing appropriate support systems to deliver efficient internal and external services. This position is responsible for the coordination of a wide variety of administrative tasks that support the Communications and Engagement team and other staff members to deliver RAs services. DUTIES First point of contact Accurately respond to or identify appropriate points for referral for all and phone enquiries from stakeholders and the wider public. Communication and collaboration Provide highly effective and accurate administrative support, including handling all basic correspondence, phone inquiries and s for the Communications and Engagement team. Assist in the preparation of presentations, reports and papers. Work closely with NITV to effectively administer the Reconciliation Film Club program. Support the CEO, Deputy CEO and Executive Assistant at events and launches, including but not limited to National Reconciliation Week, Indigenous Governance Awards and Reconciliation Action Plan launches. Coordinate/organise meetings, official functions, and business travel for the Communications and Engagement Team. Database management Update and maintain contact details and track engagement activity in the RA (Salesforce) database. Maintain effective records in the reporting system. Maintain and update contact database and distribution lists. Update and maintain RA s image library Customer service Deliver seamless client focused service underpinned by well-

5 developed and efficient processes. Understand and anticipate RA s needs and convert these into effective solutions. Other Undertake other tasks as directed by the General Manager, Communications and Engagement. SELECTION CRITERIA 1. Extensive work experience in an administrative office environment. Prior experience within a not-for-profit environment would be highly regarded. 2. Strong customer service and liaison skills including high level written and oral communication with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of people and the wider public. 3. Well-developed computing skills encompassing word processing, data entry, spreadsheets and use of the internet. 4. Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritise work tasks in a fast paced office environment. 5. Demonstrated ability to use initiative and work under limited supervision. 6. An understanding and awareness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, their cultures and issues affecting them.
