MINNESOTA AFP EXPERIENCE: I am currently on the board as the Membership Liaison and have been an active member of MNAFP since joining CSM in This has been a phenomenal experience for me, and we have made good strides in increasing participation and Company sponsorship. I believe MNAFP directly impacts both our members personal and professional lives. I find the association to bring benefits to both myself, as well as, my team. The meetings and functions bring personal growth advantages, in addition to tools and resources, which I can utilize to assist my team as they grow and increase their leadership skills. If elected as Vice President, I will continue to promote the Minnesota Association of Financial Professional, its programs, initiatives and goals as we strive to offer education and resources to fellow professionals in our field. I will be an active board member encouraging participation and keeping current members engaged by continuing to provide solid resources. As Membership Liaison, I worked to engage new members by providing them with the tools, resources and knowledge needed for both personal and professional growth. As Vice President, I feel education and knowledge should be key components in all MNAFP activities. Companies continue to demand more and more productivity with fewer resources. My personal goals include assuring that all MNAFP programs are educational, interesting and beneficial; thereby 1) creating greater excitement, participation and loyalty in the organization and 2) fostering professional growth among our area financial professionals. Our biggest challenge is both twofold and simple: Participation and Company sponsorship. As mentioned in the plans/goals question, we must provide resources, which will make a direct impact on both our members personal and professional lives. These resources will allow them to not only produce more, but to become more efficient and effective in their current roles, while preparing for future professional growth. As an association, we are lucky to have exceptional expertise within our organization, and in order to grow, we must leverage that expertise to create more energy, interest and increased membership base. 2 (Chris Fodor)

EDUCATION: Secretary Rachel Steimer Treasury Management Officer/VP at PNC Bank MBA from Duquesne University MINNESOTA AFP EXPERIENCE: I am currently a member who attends the monthly meetings and sponsors/attends the annual conference. Between all of the different industries, companies and positions represented by members of the MNAFP, networking among members ties right in to our Mission: "Provide a forum for the exchange of information, ideas and best practices for Finance Professionals". My goal is to broaden the networking in the group by making sure the interaction between members is more active and even create separate networking events. I also plan to help attract new members by telling other finance professionals about the goals of the MNAFP, topics for monthly meetings, and the annual conference. In a world where time is precious and no one seems to have enough of it, the MNAFP needs to continue to provide value in order for members to remain active and to also attract new members. As a board member, it will be my responsibility to make sure we stay relevant by bringing in interesting speakers and discussing topics that matter most to members. We need to make sure we are gathering feedback often to evaluate whether we are on the right path or we need to change our course.

I m committed to growth and 1 (Normita Rahman)

development and I know one of my goals will be to understand how the local committee can continue to network and grow in the community. Reviewing previous meeting topics and understanding the trends in the current treasury and financial environment have changed to offer suggestions and topics for local events. Additionally, I m eager to learn how my experience and skillset can offer an advantage to the board from a treasury perspective but also learning best practices to effectively help run this organization. I m eager to be a participant and a member of the board, and would welcome feedback and guidance to meet and exceed the goals and expectations of the board. One challenge would be fully participating in each monthly meeting. I do have business travels from time to time and there may be conflicts with when the MNAFP monthly meetings or board meetings are scheduled. I would ensure to review any board notes and follow-up items before monthly board meetings and provide insight or updates on topics accordingly. Creating open communication lines is critical to the success of a role within a board. 2 (Normita Rahman)

EDUCATION: Membership Liaison Chris Kobold Commercial Banker- MidCountry Bank BS Telecommunications Management MINNESOTA AFP EXPERIENCE: I have been a member of Minnesota AFP for 12+ years and regularly attend monthly meetings and the annual conference. We ve had good representation in this position previously and the thought would be to continue what s been started with a focus toward enhancing the membership experience. If elected, I would be an active board member working to encourage member participation and feedback I would work with current members to identify gaps in what content they are receiving versus what they would like to receive from the monthly meetings and their membership in general. I would also spend time with new members to identify the topics and items that are key for them personally as well as for their organizations. Time constraints for members are increasing as job demands increase, fraud is becoming more prevalent and technology/systems/regulations are continuously evolving.. Staying on top of what is current and relevant for members is important while also recognizing there is a limited amount of time to get that information across.
