1 GOV: HOW TO MANAGE PAYROLL PAYMENTS Summary In this module you will learn how to manage bank account payments. Steps 1. Welcome to the training module on How to Manage Payroll Payments! 2. The first scenario is how to add a direct deposit account for payroll payment. 1

2 3. Once you are logged in, select the GOV Employee Self-Service drop-down menu. 4. Select Manage Payroll Payments. 2

3 5. Select the Add Deposit Payment button. 6. Select the Account Name field and enter a name for your account. 3

4 7. Select the Account Type drop-down menu and select between Savings or Checking account. 8. Select the Account Number field and enter your account number. 9. Select the Transit Code field and enter the routing number or transit code for your bank. 4

5 10. Select the Bank Name field and enter the name of your bank. 11. Once all the information has been entered, select the Apply button. 12. You have now successfully added your deposit account for payroll. 5

6 13. The next scenario is for splitting payroll payments between multiple accounts. 14. On the Manage Payroll Payments: Define Payments page, select the Add Deposit Payment button to add an additional account. 15. Select the Amount Type menu and choose between either percentage or monetary, for a fixed amount. 6

7 16. Select the Amount field and enter the amount you d like deposited into your other payroll deposit account. If you selected percentage in the previous step, then you would enter a percentage amount here. 17. Select the Account Name field and enter a name for your account. 18. Select the Account Type drop-down menu and select between Savings or Checking account. 7

8 19. Select the Account Number field and enter your account number. 20. Select the Transit Code field and enter the routing number or transit code for your bank. 21. Select the Bank Name field and enter the name of your bank. 8

9 22. Once all the information has been entered, select the Apply button. 23. You have now successfully added an additional deposit account for payroll. 24. The next scenario will show you how to change the payroll amounts between multiple accounts. 9

10 25. On the Manage Payroll Payments: Define Payments page, locate the account you d like to change. Select the Amount Type menu and choose between either percentage or monetary, for a fixed amount. 26. Select the Amount field and enter the amount you d like to change. 27. Select the Update icon. 10

11 28. Verify your changes. Once complete, select the Apply button. 29. You have now successfully changed the amounts on your payroll accounts. 30. The next scenario will show you how to prioritize your payroll requests. This is for employees with multiple payroll accounts. Prioritizing payroll requests allows you to set the order in which the payments are distributed to your accounts. 11

12 31. From the system home page, select Manage Payroll Payments. 32. On the Manage Payroll Payments: Define Payments page, you can view the priorities of how your salary is deposited to your account. In this case, you have set the following priorities for payment deposits: Priority 1: The first $1,000 of your salary is deposited to your checking account number Priority 2: The next $500 is deposited to your checking account number Priority 3: The remaining pay is deposited to your savings account number

13 33. You can update your priorities on how you would like the salary deposited to your account. In this example, let us change the priorities of the deposits to the checking accounts. Now, the first $500 of your salary will be deposited to checking account number and the next $1,000 will be deposited to your checking account number The remaining pay will be deposited to your savings account number Once you are done with updating the priorities, select Continue. 34. The review page displays the changes you made. Verify your changes. 13
