3 1 OVERVIEW In this guide you will find the competencies associated with earning Blackbaud Certification in The Raiser s Edge at the Associate level, as well as sample questions and training recommendations. The Associate level of certification is the right place to start for individuals without prior certifications in The Raiser s Edge. To become certified at this level, users must demonstrate baseline knowledge of The Raiser s Edge navigation, data entry, and records including: Cursory skill set to navigate the system Cursory knowledge of when to use which Raiser s Edge modules Manual data entry for the following record types: Constituents (including optional modules) Gifts (including linking and application to optional modules) Actions Batch Entry Constituent Batch Gift Batch User Options 2 COMPETENCIES To earn associate-level certification in The Raiser s Edge 7, you should understand how to: Identify navigational areas of the program Use advanced features to search for records, including Constituent, Gift, and Action records Add and update information about individual and organization constituents Add and update information about gifts, including recurring gifts, linking gifts to optional modules, and applying gifts to pledges and planned gifts Add and update information about Actions Identify the uses and benefits of Giving Score data Use Batch to add new constituent and gift records to the database Use User Options to customize personal preferences 3
