3 2017 DIVERSITY & INCLUSION REPORT Key Diversity & Inclusion Highlights Our 2017 Highlights 81 % of colleagues feel Associated Bank values diversity and inclusion. 13 % of colleagues are minorities; 39 % in the Chicago market. 61 % of all management-level hires are females or minorities. 31 % of senior vice president positions held by females. 1.2 % of new hires are protected veterans. 41 % of all colleagues are involved in one or more Colleague Resource Groups. 8 % of eligible spend from diverse suppliers. 54 % of all promotions are minority colleagues. > 20 % female board representation. 2.6 % of colleagues are individuals with disabilities. At Associated Bank, we believe that honesty, integrity and appreciation of others are qualities of a good culture, and a good life as well. Associated Bank strives to reflect the diversity of the communities we serve. As our communities evolve, so too should the viewpoints, ideas and experiences that inform our business. 5 2017 DIVERSITY & INCLUSION REPORT Diversity & Inclusion Council Vision and Priorities We believe that we all share responsibility for shaping a diverse and inclusive culture. In consideration of our vision, Associated Bank establishes goals and takes action to attract, develop and retain diverse talent while continuing to enhance our culture of inclusion. These goals and actions ensure that we stay focused and accountable to taking bold action to reach our vision. Additionally, this year we signed the CEO Act!on for Diversity & Inclusion pledge. As a founding signatory of the pledge, we agreed to share successful diversity and inclusion initiatives with the business community, as well as best practices and key lessons learned. Through many efforts, our priority is to leverage the collective voices of the business community to work together to build a productive, diverse and inclusive workplace, for the benefit of all. Furthermore, we have made it a priority to ensure that our diverse and inclusive culture has visible commitment from our leaders, as well as an infrastructure and resources to guide success. We believe these efforts and recognition by our colleagues are differentiators in the industry and key to retaining and growing our workplace diversity. These internal initiatives make Associated Bank a better company for our customers, colleagues and the communities we serve. 8 ASSOCIATED BANK DIVERSITY & INCLUSION COUNCIL Talent Spotlight We greatly value when colleagues in their own words describe the strong connections, clear direction and real opportunities they experience working at Associated Bank. LaDonna began her career with Associated Bank in 2016 as the Multicultural and Affordable Sales Integration Manager with a focus on effecting change from a policy and community impact standpoint. Earlier this year, she was promoted to her current role as Director of Community Accountability. Associated Bank is large enough to provide opportunities but small enough that you can make an impact. LaDonna SVP, Director of Community Accountability She is an active participant in Associated Bank s Cultural Awareness Network and the Associated Women s Network and has a special interest in the recruitment and retention of minorities. She attributes much of her success to her parents and grandparents, who encouraged lifelong learning and a strong work ethic. Her plans for the future include expanding Associated Bank s community accountability efforts and becoming a mentor and role model for others. Nicole began her career with Associated Bank as a teller in During her tenure, she s held leadership roles in Consumer Banking, Technology and Corporate Risk. In February 2018 she was promoted to Chief Risk Officer. The educational and career development support across business lines allow for limitless opportunities to build a rewarding career and lasting relationships. Nicole EVP, Chief Risk Officer Nicole is a frequent participant at Colleague Resource Group events and has been involved in the Associated Women s Network since its inception, most recently as senior co-chair. She s also a board member of the Wisconsin chapter of myteam TRIUMPH, an organization focused on supporting individuals with diverse abilities through athletics. She attributes much of her professional success to her ability to adapt and her strong desire for ongoing learning and growth. With a willingness to take on complex projects, she s focused on creating the most effective risk culture possible at Associated Bank, giving back to the community and supporting the fight against financial crimes. 7

9 2017 DIVERSITY & INCLUSION REPORT Colleague Resource Groups Through the involvement of Colleague Resource Groups, we are improving our colleague recruitment and retention, inclusive culture and our community and market outreach. More than 1,800 colleagues are involved in one or more of these groups. 11 2017 DIVERSITY & INCLUSION REPORT Looking Forward In 2018 and beyond, Associated Bank aims to: Take bold leadership action to continue to shape an inclusive culture. Continue to advance diversity and inclusion goals and objectives across each business line. Enhance recruitment, development and retention of minority colleagues to more closely reflect the diversity in our communities. Continue to advance supplier diversity. Refine our diversity and inclusion communication to extend reach both internally and externally. Enhance overarching diversity and inclusion education with focus on middle management and Colleague Resource Group leaders. Diverse Inclusive Transparent Top three words colleagues use to describe Associated Bank s culture in our annual workplace survey. Continue to enhance streamlined process for our Colleague Resource Groups to more effectively contribute toward business line goals.
