2 AAP Practice Development and Management 2 Business Planning The AAP practice development team can facilitate business planning sessions that will plan your business growth. The team will assist you to effectively market and promote your financial services business to your client base as well as prepare needed business/marketing plans. The business plan includes an activity calendar for client, referral partner and staff events as well as training to ensure the goals set out in the business plan are achieved. Practice Development Managers (PDM) Creating and implementing the strategy for success and growth of the individual members. Practice Support Officers (PSO) Providing the support for the practice development team to manage day-to-day contact with their panel. Quality Management and Risk Specialists There is a wealth of industry experience amongst the management team, including managers from diverse specialties in the financial arena, lawyers, and accountants. In addition, AAP has access to dedicated managers with risk expertise to provide insurance support, education and strategies. AAP Professional Standards Professional Standards Department A dedicated AAP professional standards team with the ability to call on compliance personnel and corporate lawyers within the parent company, utilising best practice standards and a wealth of compliance tools and expertise. Compliance Review AAP s professional standards team offers an annual compliance review of your AFSL record keeping requirements and professional standards of your advice documentation, after which a complete report is provided. This also includes a compliance audit for each dealer representative per year. C ompliance Manual All members receive a complete compliance manual and the provision of updates as required by changes in legislation. In addition, you will have access to online documentation including Statements of Advice (SoA), updates on ASIC policy statements, and current information on changes to legislation.

3 Equity Participation 3 Equity Participation The opportunity to build an additional asset and release some of the equity in your business by acquiring shareholding in AAP is available for all members. Human Resources, Marketing and Communications Support Human Resources Support AAP members can access human resources support through head office for their individual practices, including basic templates for performance plans and job descriptions as well as recruitment tools. Marketing The head office marketing and communications team creates and develops marketing collateral for the Group and adviser use. The team also controls and coordinates the distribution of regular, consistent and compelling communication to the different networks and stakeholders involved with the Group. AAP Update A fortnightly e-newsletter is distributed on a Monday from head office to keep up to date with AAP, industry news and events. Newsletters AAP produces quarterly and monthly technical and research updates for advisers. In addition, AAP produces client based newsletters designed to create further enquiries for your business, which can be branded with your logo and colours (for a minimal cost). Adviser Campaign Advisers can access a range of topical campaign tool kits to help maximise opportunities available for clients and educate them on financial strategies available (for example, explaining market volatility, redundancy, tax effective strategies, retirement planning). Along with the contents created by head office for AAP practices to brand as their own, every campaign is partnered by a product provider who supports the campaign by providing marketing collateral and their national team availability to deliver the tailored presentations at adviser events. The tool kits are released quarterly and can be accessed via the AAP website. They include pre-prepared seminar invites, presentation synopses, newspaper ad templates, editorial pieces, client flyers and much more. Speak with your PDM to guide you through each of the campaign kits and start planning the related activity.

4 Website is a central location for all AAP information including tools and templates via member login. New Dealer Principals to the AAP group receive a welcome to the website with instructions on how to access the login area. If you forget your password, please contact your PSO to reset for access. 4 Research Research Update The Research Update is an e-newsletter that forms part of the regular weekly communication distributed to AAP Dealer Principals. The update provides information on product updates and commentary from the head office research team. Technical Technical Updates and Support Similar to the Research Update, the AAP Tech Update is produced by the technical team and supported by Professional Development Day sessions and in-depth workshops. Technical Updates are distributed in line with industry announcements and typically deal with specific client case studies or strategies surrounding legislative changes and outcomes. Superannuation Specialist PIS has a number of in-house superannuation specialists who provide retirement superannuation and SMSF planning, as well as up to date strategies and advice. Training State Based Back to Business A half-day session held early each year nationally, to update the network on AAP s performance and present the New Year s strategies and focus. Professional Standards Training AAP offers a range of professional standards training via Professional Development Days, conferences and Responsible Manager sessions. P ractice Integration Programs (PIPs) PIPs are education and marketing programs run for the benefit of the accounting practice staff (or other referral sources) designed to identify the value of financial adviser services to clients and generate the referral process further.

5 rofessional Development Days (PD Days) P PD days are held nationally on a quarterly basis and designed to provide topical education to maintain the necessary continuing education points needed (30) for every adviser annually. 5 Accountants Professional Development Days AAP also conducts a number of PD days throughout the year specifically designed for accountants. The sessions include specialised research and education for tax strategies, tax planning and tax effective products for both advisers and accountants. Risk Training Risky Business and Risk Specialist Focus Club sessions are designed for risk advisers and offer access to high level speakers and concepts. Training National Conferences AAP holds an annual conference that is educational and include training in the latest strategies, compliance and case studies on various financial planning situations. Conferences are an excellent investment into your business, offering invaluable networking opportunities with like-minded peers, and as such, AAP encourages attendance by both advisers, their referral partners, as well as staff and family. In addition, the Group provides AAP members with the opportunity to attend any of the Group s other conferences throughout the year. Strategic Review The parent group hosts an annual strategic review to provide associated members the opportunity to rate the services and give feedback on the direction of the Group. All stakeholders, including product providers involved with the Group, are invited to attend. Training Clients Client Events / Seminars AAP has a successful client seminar program to assist in educating clients and generating business activity, strengthening client relationships and creating new opportunities. The AAP PDMs and PSOs can assist you in arranging these client updates. Each of the AAP state offices are fitted with training rooms that can be utilised for client functions. I ndustry Speakers AAP invites licensees to regular events that feature leading and well-known industry speakers.

6 Additional Services 6 AAP Adviser Council The Adviser Council is comprised of four Dealer Principals, two AAP management and one non-executive AAP Board of Directors member. The role of the Adviser Council is to assist in areas that will benefit from enhanced communication between AAP management and members. The Council acts as a conduit for feedback between constituents and the AAP management team. AccountPay A direct debit facility that is available to network members and external groups to use as a fee collection tool. Very suitable for accounting firms. Australian Loan Company (ALCo) Lending services are offered through subsidiary group ALCo. ALCo specialises in residential backed mortgage origination and all aspects of commercial lending and asset equipment finance. Paraplanning Client financial plans can be outsourced to the head office paraplanning department who are available to also mentor and train new advisers and paraplanners. Professional Advantage Program Designed to offer quality products and services by superior national providers along with preferred pricing and outstanding service. Software and Research Discounts AAP has secured favourable pricing arrangements with a number of software providers including Kaplan, Xplan, Midwinter, Coin, Lonsec Research, Zenith Research and Accompli on behalf of members. Product Provider Partners AAP will continue to cultivate product providers for mutual benefit such as product development and expertise. S uccession Planning AAP has a formula to facilitate succession plans and assist in succession planning of practices.
