2 POSITION DESCRIPTION Maintenance Systems Advisor Incumbent Vacant Position Number 1290 Position Status Permanent Full Time Position Supervisor Maintenance Systems Specialist Department Asset Management & Project Services Job Level of Work I Job Purpose Statement To develop, implement and maintain the information systems and interfaces for the collection, management and retrieval of data within the Asset Maintenance & Project Services Department. To ensure the effective and efficient operation of the information systems to assist the department in achieving operational objectives. Job Accountabilities Manage and coordinate projects related to information systems within the Asset Maintenance & Project Services Department Ensure reliability of information systems for users within the Asset Maintenance & Project Services Department Develop, enhance and maintain the: - Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) - Graphical User Interface (GUI) including publishing and coding - Reporting Database (Reports Now) Interface between Maintenance and Operational systems Provide support, guidance and training to users of the systems Provide a responsive service to users of the systems Other duties as required including (but not limited to): Maintenance Documentation System (MIDAS) Availability Work Bench (AWB) including PM development and input to CMMS. Delay Data Support as required Other maintenance systems task as required. Decision Making Authority As in accordance with company policy/systems: Ability to access necessary information, obtain resources and use of facilities or equipment needed to carry out the work of this role. Freedom to act when making decisions regarding programming within design constructs. This includes identifying potential problems and shortcomings in the design and development specifications and developing effective solutions. The position is responsible for ensuring that adopted programming procedures and practices are utilised and that the systems are developed so as to achieve maximum efficiency and effectiveness. The position is expected to offer recommendations on improvements to systems, procedures and processes to ensure it meets the Asset Maintenance & Project Services Department s needs. The position is responsible for the day to day operational decisions to ensure the reliability, performance and functionality of the information system. To provide an information system that meets our operational needs. The role impacts the GPCL reporting and data management system. Availability CMMS (Primary) Work management system (Primary) Performance reporting (Primary) Productivity reporting (Primary) Costs (Contributory) Key Relationships Internal Interaction with the Maintenance Systems Specialist, other Maintenance Systems Advisors/Officers and IS Department ensuring two-way communication on system requirements and enhancements. Interaction and provision of a customer focused service with personnel within Asset Maintenance & Project Services Department Maintenance Systems Officer # Page 3 of 5

4 External Liaise with external customers as required to provide quality customer service to personnel within all other GPCL departments. Liaise with external vendors and service providers to develop system enhancements through clearly defined scope and demonstrated professional interaction. Level of Supervision Direction is provided in terms of objectives which will require the planning of activities, time and resources for their completion. Limited detailed guidance will be available and the development or modification of procedures by the employee will be required. Performance will be measured against objectives. Technology Skills Previous experience and working knowledge of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) Previous experience and working knowledge of Graphical User Interface (GUI) Linkone software. Working knowledge of Reports Now software. High level PC skills and expertise in MS Office suite. 2. Administrative / Communication Skills Proven written and verbal communications skills with a strong attention to detail. Well-developed customer service skills. Well-developed analytical skills High level of organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines to produce quality results. 3. Social Influencing The ability to achieve personal goals in social interaction while simultaneously maintaining positive relationships with others over time and across situations. 4.
