2 The Communications Manager Clúid recognises that to achieve its strategic aims it must communicate effectively with key stakeholders. The Communications Manager has overl responsibility for extern communications across the organisation, and will work closely with the Executive Team to ensure that l communication activity is igned with Clúid s strategic aims. A primary aim of the communications work is to contribute to business success by designing and driving strategies which achieve a trustworthy, positive profile. Role: Communications Manager Role Overview: The Communications Manager leads development, implementation, management and evuation of communication strategies. The Communications Manager so upholds and protects the reputation of the organisation. Reporting to: Head of Policy Key responsibilities Communications Strategy, vision and leadership To work in consultation with the Board and Executive Team, to capitise on the household name achieved to date by executing the organisation s communications strategy Report regularly to the Board and sub-committees Lead and inspire support for the communications vision at Board, management and staff level Achieve vua strategic output from campaigns Manage annu plans, review and evuate the progress of communications Prepare and manage communications budget Provide leadership and guidance to intern newsletter editors, project teams and volunteer placements Assign extern contractors, such as designers, photographers, printers, proofreaders; and negotiate best vue packages Be aware of intern and wider politic, economic, soci, technic and environment factors which influence Clúid s communications efforts Branding Enhance and capitise on the clarity and consistency achieved in the last strategic period Adhere to a high quity and award winning standard of communications Produce annu reports which ensure the improvement of financi accessibility, accountability and transparency Produce videos, exhibitions, research reports, marketing publications, tenant communications, sheltered housing communications and branded stationery Produce and place advertisements in sector and business publications Centrise branding and messaging, by continuing to coordinate and promote the organisations identity in Clúid s Brand Standards

3 Press office and media management Continue to raise Clúid s public credibility, reach audiences who have never heard of Clúid, and counteract any past / future reputation damage by catapulting Clúid s message across the most established media forums Manage a profession press and media office on a 24x7 basis to co-ordinate Clúid s media activity Actively engage, cultivate and manage press relationships Integrated communications Provide communications support to various units across the organisation; while ensuring that the organisation objectives are met, hence legitimising our public message and supporting the reisation of the business plan Convince staff about clarifying objectives for communications campaigns by showcasing best practice Online media programme Manage the evolution of the website, ongside Clúid s business plan Implement an intern infrastructure which identifies ongoing intern requirements Implement true and accurate performance mechanisms to assess the re performance of the website, particularly from the end user point of view Advertise the website online and offline Crisis communications Prompt, planned and controlled communications response to an issue arising, ensuring that the impact upon Clúid is contained Promote, develop and implement the Clúid Crisis Communications Protocol Continue to promote positive stories to counteract future reputation damage Careful decision making to prevent reputation damage Corporate Responsibilities: Ensure l activity is igned to Clúid s vues and contributes to the mission of supporting the development of thriving communities Adhere to l Clúid policies and procedures at l times Gener Responsibilities: To fulfil l care and high standards regarding both Clúid s and your own heth and safety obligations. 4 Diplomacy Key Skills Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of illustrating in their application that they fulfil the following criteria. Education / Quifications Educated to a degree level in communications, journism, public relations or marketing (or similar) Knowledge / Skills Ability to work on own initiative; plan, organise, multi-task and prioritise Strong communicator with excellent interperson and listening skills Prom solving skills Leadership and influencing skills Evidence of simplifying complex information Ability to think strategicly Creative Experience 5+ years experience in a similar role Experience implementing and measuring the success of a communications strategies Experience setting annu plans which ign to the communications strategy Proven examples of strategic campaigns, with solid impact Experience in crisis communications and ability to demonstrate sound judgement Experience managing budgets The closing date for applications to be returned for this role is 9 th March 2017 at noon.
