4 About the course Program description In this increasingly integrated world, ethics and social responsibility awareness and competence have become a key requirement in leading and managing organizations. This course aims to help managers meet the demands of corporate social responsibility across the globe. The course will provide participants with foundational knowledge, understanding and skills essential for managers and directors working in business ethics and corporate social responsibility to help them apply the new knowledge and skills immediately. The workshop employs a principles-to-practice approach. the content reflects only the most reliable, researchbased knowledge in the field of corporate social responsibility. This knowledge is then translated into practical strategies for managers and practitioners. Moreover, during the program, a dedicated instructional expert in corporate social responsibility and business ethics shall o provide feedback and consultation to participants. This course can be the starting point to belonging to the corporate social responsibility professional community. Who should attend This course is suitable for managers, supervisors and who wish to have a proper and structured grounding in the area of corporate social responsibility. The course is suitable for all professionals handling areas within their organization which is sensitive to the livelihood and interest of both internal and external stakeholders. This includes roles in head office, procurement and contracting, corporate governance, internal auditing, financing, intellectual property, distribution, environmental sustainability, tax and regulatory compliance, reporting obligations, beneficiation, product distribution, marketing and sales. Learning methodology The learning methodology is highly interactive, consisting of a balanced mix of short presentations, insights from the course director s extensive experience, handouts containing key articles and topic support, dialogue about best practices, delegates own ideas and experiences, sharing of knowledge, discussions, feedback, scenarios, case studies, practical examples, individual and group exercises designed to assist the participants to gain a working knowledge of the topics and to embed the skills. Note: The outline is only an indication of what is intended to be covered during the workshop. Important queries may arise which go beyond what was placed on the agenda and which warrant that they be addressed properly.
