2 Welcome to Fujitsu Welcome to Fujitsu. To help you get started, here s some information on the steps we take to create an inclusive environment where all of our people can thrive. Regina Moran, Head of Fujitsu UK & Ireland We all have unique skills, experience, personalities and perspectives and I look forward to the contribution you can make to our organisation. It is important for the business that we create an open, friendly and supportive environment where you feel that you can be yourself and know that you will be welcomed. Diversity and Inclusion are crucial to our continued growth and success. We can benefit from a diversity of cultures, backgrounds and thinking, maximising our potential as an organisation, developing new and innovative products and services, and building deeper and stronger relationships with our customers. All of us have a role to play in creating an inclusive environment where we all feel comfortable to be ourselves. I encourage you to treat people with respect, care about others and value different perspectives. You should feel respected, cared for and valued by all of us. I wish you a very warm welcome to the Fujitsu family and hope you enjoy your time with us. Terri McCartney, Recruitment and Diversity Lead I consider it a great privilege to be in a position where I can help to attract and retain a rich mix of talent into the organisation and to encourage an environment where everyone feels included and believes that they can contribute to Fujitsu s success. My own experience of managing teams has taught me the value of difference and how much more fun, creative and effective we can be when we have varying perspectives, experiences and views in the mix. We have an exciting agenda. We are keen that everyone understands the benefit of a diverse and inclusive team so we hold regular awareness sessions and we promote more inclusive behaviours by delivering unconscious bias training. I do hope you will be inspired by the things that are happening and perhaps get involved too. 2 3

3 Our approach to Inclusion Inclusiveness means creating a workplace in which everyone feels included, respected, welcomed and valued and where we all take the time to listen to each other s views and opinions. We recognise the importance of inclusiveness to our continued success as an organisation. When all our people can be themselves at work they will be able to contribute fully to the growth of our company. It s ok to be different» There isn t just an acknowledgement that it s ok to be different from the norm, but it s actively encouraged to get the best out of the company. It s stimulating and challenging and ensures we are getting the best results for our customers.«ed Coleridge» Respect is the key to making me feel included. Here, you are respected as an individual no matter what your background is in terms of race, religion, disability, gender and sexual orientation. That makes me feel I can be who I am, enjoy my work and help Fujitsu to grow. «Rohan de Silva Respect is key» As a senior leader, I m conscious that feeling excluded from our friends and colleagues at work can have a profoundly damaging impact. That s why I take personal responsibility for including everyone and encouraging people to use their roles and their voices to make inclusion a part of daily life.«dennis Badman» There is a very clear message at Fujitsu, starting at the very top of the organisation, that you can and should bring your whole self to work. The fact that our senior leaders and managers are so clear and consistent on this point makes me feel that I can be myself.«sophie Timmins 4 5

4 Our Inclusion networks Our inclusive network groups aim to create a better experience for our people, our customers, our partners and suppliers. They work closely together and with the business to drive the diversity and inclusion agenda forward. Each group has the benefit of a passionate Executive Sponsor who champions their work at the most senior levels. The Cultural Diversity Network is all about learning and celebrating the different cultural heritages of Fujitsu colleagues and customers. We host a range of events including online discussions and topical cultural celebrations, such as Black History Month. We also share resources on cultural awareness, which can be really useful for those doing business internationally. Anyone with an interest in cultural diversity is welcome to join. Kombo Magara, Cultural Diversity SEED aims to promote disability confidence and bring about inclusion and equality for individuals with disabilities, health challenges or workplace adjustments. Enhancing our workplace adjustments process and promoting role models are key. If you or a family member have a disability, health challenge or require workplace adjustments, or you just want to get involved, we welcome you. Sarah Simcoe, SEED (Supporting and Engaging Employees with a Disability) The Gender Network aims to increase the representation of women at Fujitsu to 30% by We are passionate about encouraging more girls into Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics to help shape the IT workforce of the future. We hold regular meetings across eight regional hubs creating the opportunity for connection, mutual support and fun. Everyone is welcome to get involved, regardless of gender and gender identity. Val Risk, Gender Network Shine LGBT+ is the group for lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans colleagues, plus everyone else. We hold regular events and offer peer support, mentoring and training. If you re thinking of coming out or have issues with workplace bullying, we can help you to get expert support in confidence. If your child is coming out, we can put you in touch with parents in a similar position. There are lots of ways you can get involved, from wearing a rainbow lanyard to marching with us at Pride. 5 The impact of inclusiveness» I have worked for many years and I have been part of many types of organisations, but none to compare with Fujitsu. At last I feel I am being heard and my needs as someone with a disability are being met. I am not being labelled or categorised. I am me and it s a great feeling. Fujitsu feels like a big family Don t be afraid to be open and honest. This is a company who supports and embraces individuals who want to be successful, even if they have a disability. Do not let anything hold you back. Fujitsu will be there to walk with you and give you the tools and framework to make it happen.«irene Jones» The Fujitsu Carers Policy has really helped me with my responsibilities as a carer for my elderly mother. With my manager s support this has proved very helpful and avoids any additional stress at often difficult times.«howard Andrews» As a new graduate coming into the company, I feel that people value my opinions and views despite my limited experience. Fujitsu feels like a big family to me because of this.«gavin Woodcock This is an organisation where I can reach my potential» I ve been openly gay throughout my whole career in Fujitsu working in the UK and internationally and am happy to say that I haven t had any negative experience. When I first joined and was going through those nervous feelings about being myself it was reassuring to see openly out senior leaders. It showed me that this is an organisation where I can reach my potential. I know from personal experience that when I wasn t out how much of a waste this was to my own potential. If I wasn t being true to myself, how could I be my best?«nick White» Fujitsu has been with me throughout a really important part of my life journey. I started working for the company in my 20s, and in my time here the company has supported me as I have taken maternity leave twice, and made transitions from full time to job-share to part-time and back again! Fujitsu doesn t put you in a box because you are a parent or because you work part-time; fulfilling roles are available regardless of your circumstances and life stage. I feel an immense sense of loyalty and commitment to Fujitsu because I have been supported through the transitions life has brought about. «Emma Chatwin 8 9

6 What will you do to promote Inclusion?» I became disabled about 5 years ago. Fujitsu have helped me to remain working in a job which I love doing by providing me with a full working setup from home. The people also make it easy. They know I am disabled, but don t treat me as such, I am part of the team. «Melanie Devine» I work in a great team. I had been very self-conscious about my hearing impairment. When SEED was created it gave me confidence to be more open about my hearing. When I had to start using aids my manager and colleagues were all very supportive and helped me through the early transition. I know that I can talk to them honestly and in return I will get support from them. «Neil Forshaw Everyone working at Fujitsu has a role to play in creating an inclusive environment. The Diversity & Inclusion intranet portal has more information about the networks and the other support we offer, such as our Employee Assistance Programme, our Flexible Working Policy and our Disability & Adjustment Passport for recording workplace adjustments for people with disabilities. Search for Inclusion on Café VIK. We know that there is still far more we can do with your support to make Fujitsu an even better place to work and have big ambitions for the future. What commitments will you make to promote Inclusion within your first three months at Fujitsu? 1 I feel part of a team» Working in an inclusive organisation like Fujitsu immediately gives you the chance to build up your support network and feel part of a team, something which is often hard within a large organisation. «Mitesh Dhanak
