In Waverley we value taking ownership, where everyone feels personally committed to issues at hand and is working towards a positive outcome PRINCIPL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE To support the Building Control Business Manager in developing the marketing and promotion of the Waverley Building Control service To take responsibility for the administration duties and deliver improved systems and processes to facilitate an efficient service.

2 MIN DUTIES ND CCOUNTBILITIES To develop and maintain an effective marketing and communication strategy to build relationships with internal and external customers To develop and maintain systems and processes to support the Building Control Service s Team Leader for administration to manage the team and take responsibility for monitoring and prioritisation of workload To organise and administer building control workshops and training events as required for customers and stakeholders To participate in Regional Marketing Working Group meetings and LBC National, regional and local marketing events / meetings as required To assist in the preparation and completion of official statistics / returns ny other duties commensurate with the grade and responsibilities of the post DIMENSIONS OF THE ROLE The Team consists of a Business Manager, 1 Principal Surveyor, 6 Surveyors, 1 Trainee Surveyor, Business Support Team Leader and 2 dministrators. Processing approximately 1600 applications p.a Income of approximately 600,000 p.a site inspections p.a. 500 plan checks p.a. Role is office based and includes some attendance at external meetings and events to promote and represent the Waverley Building Control Team RES OF CCOUNTBILITY/PROBLEM SOLVING DECISION MKING / SCOPE FOR IMPCT To support the Local uthority Building Control wards strategy and Waverley Building Control Partners Scheme To support the delivery of the marketing strategy, including identifying to line manager, new initiatives to build internal and external customer relationships To deal with customer queries and assist the Business Manager as required To compile performance and financial information to facilitate the effective management of the business To develop efficient processes and systems to effect continuous improvement for the Building Control Team To maintain the building control customer database for marketing purposes. 4 PERSON SPECIFICTION Candidates must be able to fully demonstrate all essential criteria within their application form to be shortlisted for this role. PERSON SPECIFICTION ESSENTIL CRITERI HOW DESIRBLE CRITERI HOW SSESSED SSESSED QULIFICTIONS / EDUCTION / TRINING / EXPERIENCE GCSE or equivalent education Extensive practical on the job marketing experience or formal training in marketing Marketing Degree Previous experience of using Visio or similar process mapping tools Extensive experience or formal training in process mapping and/ or operational delivery of a service KNOWLEDGE /TECHNICL SKILLS uthoritative understanding of property / construction industry Substantive and demonstrable performance monitoring experience Knowledge of Safeguarding Building Regulations knowledge bility to act as lone professional to provide sound advice to line manager regarding marketing and promotion of the service COMMUNICTION blity to effectively communicate and promote the service offer to a diverse customer base I Complaint handling experience CUSTOMER SERVICE Demonstrable experience in understanding the

5 customer and taking ownership of the task in hand Understanding of and commitment to promoting equality and diversity in service delivery and employment.
