2 The Need In the current scenario when importance of human resources in organization has increased manifold, people and system related issues are getting more challenging and complex. Today s HRD professionals and facilitators need diverse specialized training, skill and continuous knowledge up gradation to handle these issues. One such skill is the use of psychological instruments. Instruments are tools used to assess, appraise and evaluate various aspects of the human behavior to help derive some tentative generalization. HRD professional not only need the knowledge about various standardized tools, but also need to learn the skills required to develop the instrument according to organizational need. This will make them to be able to diagnose, all kinds of issues in the organization and also will be able to make various interventions to enhance the effectiveness of the organization. Program Objectives To provide in-depth knowledge of various type of psychological instruments and its administration for the various purposes, like training, executive coaching, mentoring and counseling, competency mapping, assessment centre, leadership development, team building, organization development, recruitment and placement etc. To provide an in-depth knowledge of construction and standardization of psychometric instruments used for various purposes. Prior to this she held the position as Director, Behavioral Sciences at Asian Centre for Organizational Research & Development (ACORD), New Delhi. She has a rich experience of more than 30 years in the areas of teaching, training and consulting, both in public sector as well as private sector. She has worked and developed Trainer s Manual, carried out audits and surveys and worked on and developed HR systems for various organizations, for example, empowerment audit for J K Group of Industries (for which JK group won the award for best practice in HR at national level) and HCL, organization climate audit for Ballarpur Industries and Heinz Ltd, Work Planning and Review System for Ultratech Metal, Panecea Biotech,Onida etc., and Trainer s Manual for Wild Life Institute of India and UNDP. She is an accredited MBTI trainer (APA, USA). She has certification in Hypnotism, Dream Analysis and Achievement Motivation. She has more than 50 papers and 5 books to her credit. She is an oxford university Press and Willey (Pffiefer & Jones) Author and four of her contributions have been published in the Pfeiffer Annuals. She has developed many psychological instruments and software of automated scoring of famous instruments of Dr. Udai Pareek. Prof. Surabhi Purohit: Prof. Purohit has been teaching Human Development (Home Science) for the last 27 years at University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. She has supervised more than 50 dissertations and theses. She has authored more than 50 articles, papers and books. She has adapted and standardized a number of instruments including instruments for parents. She is MBTI trainer. She has facilitated more than 30 programs and workshops designed for various groups like students, teachers and parents. She has also been honored with All India Educational Achievement Award. She has also worked in the field of HRD and held positions like Vice President and Secretary in Jaipur HRD Network Forum. A co-trainer with CDI (Campus Diversity Initiative), she is instrumental in changing the mindset of students and teachers in various colleges and universities.
