As the PA to the A&E Officer you will be expected to carry out a diverse range of duties that will be ever changing. You would be working in a busy office with other members of staff and will be asked to assist in any number of projects going on at ESAB. As Steve is blind a key part of the role will be driving around the county, so a clean driving licence and use of a car is essential. You will also be required to transport, and work with, Rex, Steve s guide dog. The role requires a flexibility to the hours which can include evenings and weekends. 3 Job Description ORGANISATION: LOCATION: JOB TITLE: HOURS: CONTRACT: RESPONSIBLE TO: MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB: East Sussex Association of Blind and Partially Sighted People (ESAB) County HQ Hailsham, East Sussex Personal Assistant to the Aids & Equipment Officer 23 per week over three days (flexible working will be required which might include weekends and evenings Initially until 31 st December 2016, then permanent (subject to continuing funding from Access to Work) but also subject to the existing Aids and Equipment Officer Steve Saunders being in post. Aids & Equipment Officer and Chief Executive To work as a personal assistant to the Aids and Equipment Officer providing a range of assistance including driving, secretarial, organisational, diary, event management, filing and general support where needed. 4 KEY TASKS To provide a dedicated PA service to the A&E Officer, in particular, to provide a chauffeur service. Take responsibility for the A&E Officer s filing and management of paperwork Assisting the A&E Officer with demonstrations of equipment and acting as his eyes when needed Assist other departments within ESAB as required Carry out errands as required by the A&E Officer Carry out duties as required by the A&E Officer To be self-supporting in respect of administration. To participate in team meetings. To undertake any other tasks commensurate with the post. To undertake available training opportunities and show commitment to continuous development, to maximise your potential and ensure the efficient and effective delivery of the organisations services

Salary The salary for this post is 7.65 per hour. Contract As the post is funded by Access to work it is an initial contract until 31 st December 2016, however, a new contract will be negotiated with Access to Work and provided it is successful, the contract will continue. The position will be subject to a three month probation period. Please note that the contract only exists whilst the current Aids & Equipment Officer Steve Saunders is in post. Annual Leave Entitlement Your annual leave for the post is 5 weeks (part of which is to be taken over the Christmas period). The annual leave year runs from the 1 st January. The annual leave entitlement excludes public holidays. For part time staff, entitlement is calculated proportionately to the full time equivalent, based on the number of hours you work. Please note that annual leave will need to be taken at the same time as the Aids and Equipment Officer. Working Hours This role will require some flexible working, including the possibility of occasional weekend or evening work, for which TOIL would be allowed. The organisation has a range of flexible working incentives to help you balance your work life

8 commitments. What is available to you is dependent on the service you provide and the times you are required to provide this service. Your manager will discuss this with you before you commence employment. Maternity/Paternity Leave These are in accordance with current statutory entitlements. Appointment Details If appointed to the post you will be required to complete a Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure.
