The Head of IT Services will ensure the Groups IT capabilities, service delivery, systems, data, and business information is fit-for-purpose and continually aligned with business requirements; enabling and supporting the achievement of corporate objectives. As a member of the Senior Management Team, the Head of IT Services shall play a key part in developing Coastal and embodying the organisation s values and leadership behaviours at all times. 5 Areas of Accountability The Head of IT Services will be responsible for the following: Strategic Direction Providing strategic advice and guidance on emerging technologies and the general direction of IT with accountability for developing and maintaining IT services and systems that are aligned with business requirements and enable and support the Group in meeting corporate objectives. Being an active member of the Senior Management Team; contributing to the overall development of Coastal; assisting in the development and delivery of the Corporate Plan and ensuring the appropriate structures and resources are in place to enable the Group to meet its corporate objectives. IT Services, Systems, Security and Infrastructure Supporting the delivery of business requirements through: Fostering a solution-oriented approach that recognises and fulfils changing business needs Fostering a continual service improvement approach by being visible to customers of IT and carrying out customer satisfaction surveys and attending formal departmental meetings to capture current issues and emerging needs. Defining and managing a balanced IT service portfolio and the associated investments (budgets), which includes forming and chairing an Investment Board with business representatives where requests for new services are assessed and approved/rejected based on business value and strategic alignment. Ensuring the IT infrastructure is fit for purpose, resilient and scalable to meet the current and future needs of the business through carrying out periodical reviews of local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN), wireless networking, servers, virtualisation, databases, storage and backups, security, firewalls, end user computing, remote working, printing, and telephony (mobile and fixed). Ensuring robust and effective disaster recovery and business continuity plans are in place with annual reviews and invocation tests. Managing procurement processes and IT supplier relationships to ensure the Group gets value for money and that underpinning contracts and agreements meet the needs of the business. Developing and managing IT service delivery processes, which include: o Service Level Management and Reporting o Change Management o Incident Management o Problem Management o Request Fulfilment o Continual Service Improvement Coastal Housing Group (2015) Page 5 of 10

6 Developing and embedding of project management processes for ensuring new systems and significant changes are delivered in a controlled manner (to time, budget, risk, and scope requirements). Regulation and Data Protection Providing the Management Team and Board with clear and accurate information on performance in areas of accountability, and being responsible for advising on and ensuring that appropriate measures are in place. Ensuring the Group s activities meet statutory and regulatory requirements in areas of accountability and working in partnership with the Coastal Data Protection Officer to ensure the protection of data in accordance with the Data Protection Act Leadership Providing inspirational leadership; managing, coaching, motivating, and developing the IT team to deliver high levels of performance at individual and team levels. Setting and monitoring clear and achievable objectives and providing clear and positive feedback. Ensuring the IT team is adequately staffed to meet the changing needs of the Group. Fostering a culture within the team to that encourages innovative, professional and solution-oriented mindsets. Stakeholders and communication Establishing and maintaining a respectable external profile and developing relationships through professional, collaborative networks to support the Group s strategic aims. Represent and promote the group in the wider arena e.g. through the media etc. and protect and enhance the Group s reputation. Continuous Professional Development Have an awareness of, and commitment to personal development needs, and actively seek to keep up-to-date with any changes in legislation, technology, regulation, policy, etc. Systems Thinking As part of the Senior Management Team, create and support an open, innovative and collaborative culture that learns from others, encourages experimentation and is prepared to take calculated risks with staff are empowered to do their jobs.
