1 Tide Carers Network Scotland Job Description Job Title: Responsible to: Responsible for: Contract: Probation: Hours Location: Region: Salary Band: Annual leave Learning and Development Coordinator (Scotland) Learning & Development Lead There are currently no line management responsibilities Permanent Four months Full time 35 hours a week Tide Carer s Network in Scotland office base is Robertson House, 152 Bath Street, Glasgow, G2 4TB. This post will require travel throughout the region and occasional travel in the rest of the UK, particularly to Liverpool. Scotland 25,000 28,000 per annum depending on experience 25 days and Scottish Public Holidays Job Summary As Learning & Development Coordinator you will provide operational & administrative support to the Learning & Development Lead (Scotland), the wider team and our network of carer members. Specifically you will support the development of an exciting learning and development programme for our carer members. You will also be responsible for capturing evidence of impact from those same groups of people. 1 P a g e

2 Main duties and responsibilities Support the Learning & Development Lead to project plan, implement & co-ordinate development programmes. Support the effective use of evaluation & feedback forms so that we can ensure our development programmes are relevant & of high quality. Supporting the Learning & Development process in the identification of training needs, building learning and development plans and developing learning interventions and materials that can be delivered in-house. Working with current and former carers of people living with dementia in the tide network Support a systematic process of engaging with carers to identify their current knowledge and skills as well as their learning and development needs; Support the Learning & Development Lead in engaging with carers to support the codesign and development of a suite of programmes that will meet the emerging needs of the individual and collective group of carers; Help to ensure that carers feel welcomed, valued and understand their role and commitment Working with the wider LSN and tide team Support a systematic process of identifying the current knowledge and skills across the team and identify ongoing training and development needs of staff members; Working with the Carers Engagement Lead and Business Support Manager to ensure that all the systems and processes are in place to deliver a high quality learning and development experience for participants on our programemes including: equipment, expenses, travel arrangements, interpreting services, providing biographies and any promotional materials; Working with partners Keep abreast of new developments within the Social Care Sector supporting the Learning & development Lead to create new learning opportunities to ensure these are reflected in practice; Proactively research a broad range of partner organisations, particularly in the educational and research field to explore opportunities for commissioned or collaborative work; General responsibilities Pay due attention to health and safety at all times and where necessary risk assess venues prior to an engagement activity with particular reference to tide carers as volunteers, in line with the organisations Volunteering Policy and Health and Safety Policy; 2 P a g e

Personal Specification ATTRIBUTE ESSENTIAL DESIRABLE HOW ASSESSED Education/ Qualifications Knowledge and Skills National Standard Grade (or equivalent) in English and Maths Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, (including the preparation of training materials) Ability to plan and prioritise work and manage a busy workload under pressure, while maintaining a positive attitude Flexible and willing in approach and prepared to find creative solutions Experience Experience of co-ordinating complex and busy learning programmes Experience of working alongside stakeholders to achieve organisational learning goals Group facilitation experience of helping others to work & learn together Experience of working in a similar role/similar tasks Scottish Higher (or equivalent) in English Degree or a relevant professional qualification e.g. CIPD Level 3 Certificate or level 3 award learning & development Experience of monitoring /co-ordinating learning activities to carers Simple research and analysis skills Application form and certificates Application form Interview & probation period & references 3 P a g e

4 Knowledge Skills/Abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills Working understanding of Microsoft applications in particular Word, Excel Power point & Publisher Well organised and able to motivate others to work in a systematic planned style. Work Related Willing to carry out all duties Circumstances and responsibilities of the post in accordance with the LSN s equal opportunities and diversity policies Willing and able to travel across the designated region regularly Willing and able to travel across the UK and occasionally International travel to conferences etc. Willing and able to stay away from home overnight occasionally Willing and able to work flexibly if required Knowledge of how the health, social care and voluntary sectors work in Scotland Knowledge of current Scottish Government policy and legislation relevant to dementia and carers of people living with dementia.
