1 Team Classification Position Objective Key Responsibilities Planning and Capital Delivery Western Water Enterprise Agreement Band 6 Level A Level C To provide sustainable asset management solutions across Western Water s asset base through the application of expert asset management knowledge to improve business processes and ensure Asset Management Plans (AMP s) are updated and implemented across the business. To provide expert knowledge about asset lifecycle management and planning. To provide effective and efficient technical advice for the maintenance and upgrade of Western Water s assets and related Capital investments/ projects. To coordinate asset management effort in the area of Dam Safety, Sewer Monitoring and Water Mains renewals, and others as assigned. To support Integrated Water Network (IWN) and other improvement activities and innovations across the business. Undertake asset management related tasks to support the role of the Manager, Asset Integrity, including project management as required. Work areas will include all aspects of water, sewerage and recycled water infrastructure operation and maintenance. Capital renewals program planning and development to ensure cost effective delivery of Standards of Service for Western Water customers. Inspect, monitor, assess and report on asset condition and performance. Develop, implement, review and update Asset Management Plans for all infrastructure asset classes. Plans to consider service levels, financial forecasts and continuous improvement plans for asset management system. Undertake and report on Asset Management Accountability Framework (AMAF) compliance review and support improvement planning and execution. Oversee various Asset Management related contracts, e.g.: Dam Safety, Cathodic Protection. Coordinate Sewer Nodal Monitoring Across Western Water s sewer catchments, ensuring that the monitoring provides Ref: HR-FORM-ASSENGB6 Page 1 of 5 Uncontrolled when Printed

2 accurate and reliable data for operations, planning and decision making. Support the Design Standards Working group to achieve desired outcomes working with key stakeholders. Key Relationships Accountability and Extent of Authority Judgement and Decision Making Reports to: Manager, Asset Integrity Supervises: Not applicable Internal: General Manager, Planning and Capital Delivery Manager, Asset Integrity Asset Planning Coordinator All Western Water staff External: Customers and Community Consultants and Service providers Stakeholders and Regulators Responsible for the updating and review of Western Water s Asset Management Plans (AMPs). Carry out asset performance reporting as required (e.g. preparation of a State of the Assets report). Ensure maintenance of asset management documentation. Work with the Asset Information team to ensure all renewals planning is carried out based on all relevant data. Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the Asset Management Accounting Framework. Manage follow-up investigations and documentation of results for asset related issues, including customer liaison and problem solving (including various hydraulics problems) in conjunction with other office, field staff and specialists. Sound problem solving on day to day issues to ensure timely delivery of projects. Identify actions and resources as required to deliver projects. 3 Regularly discuss issues and problems with Manager to find the best resources and solutions. Able to determine areas where management direction and advice is required Specialist Knowledge and Skills Management Skills Interpersonal Skills Qualifications and Experience Core Competencies Capital Renewals planning. Budget planning, managing and reporting. Provide a key point of contact in the business for Asset Type preferences, establishing an effective knowledge base of features of various asset class types and materials and the various strengths and weaknesses of the different products available and used. This aspect includes staying up to date with new products and systems available in the Asset Management arena. Ability to Coordinate and undertake asset condition inspections for relevant infrastructure as per requirements. Coordinate the asset management process improvements with key internal stakeholders. Manage the delivery of the Leakage Reduction plans together with Specialist Consultants and Contractors. Liaise with office and field Staff, and stakeholders and Customers Tertiary qualification in a relevant engineering discipline. Knowledge and understanding of Asset Management principles is essential. Previous experience in Asset Management is essential. Significant experience in technical/ business writing and documentation. Related Post Graduate qualifications would be considered an advantage. Conceptual and Cross Functional Thinking be able to utilise background and experience, and knowledge of the organisation to develop practical workplace solutions or improvements to work practices, systems, processes and procedures.
