We have zero tolerance of any abuse or maltreatment of children. We are committed to ensuring children and young people are able to actively participate in decisions that affect their lives. We understand our legal and moral obligations to treat any child safety concerns seriously. We report any allegations and wellbeing concerns to authorities. We are committed to the cultural safety of all children including Aboriginal children, children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds, and to providing a safe environment for children with a disability. 2 Position Objectives Manage communications to internal and external stakeholders that positively and accurately reflect the work, values, mission and vision of Bethany, and elevate Bethany s thought leadership position in both Victoria and Australia Develop and implement comprehensive Marketing, Communications and Events Strategy that furthers Bethany s strategic objectives for both the community services and kindergarten services. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive Marketing, Communications and Events Strategy to further Bethany s strategic objectives for both the community services and kindergarten services; and to elevate Bethany s thought leadership position Plan and coordinate the development of internal and external publications, including annual report, newsletters, brochures, media releases, fundraising collateral, presentations and reports Develop and maintain the content for Bethany s digital communications platforms including website and social media and developing the use of such platforms for regular stakeholder engagement and communications Develop, prepare, and direct senior management on internal and external corporate communication strategies and plans Prepare communications for senior management presenting to internal and external audiences to ensure consistency, timeliness and alignment with the values of Bethany Responsible for Bethany s branding guidelines and ensuring compliance Develop and foster proactive and positive relationships with journalists and the media; and prepare and distribute media releases Support the Manger of Strategic Engagement in key areas related to the successful implementation of the Community Investment Strategy, including but not limited to partnerships, community and event fundraising and donor communications. Manage and develop internal and external operational relationships with key stakeholders, including participation in relevant networks and working groups. Data reporting on key activity and targets as required Support and participate in the organisation s continuous quality improvement process Other duties as required. Page 3 of 6

4 Key Selection Criteria Essential A minimum 5 years experience working in a Communication or Marketing managerial position A relevant tertiary qualification in Communication or Marketing Experience working in the social purpose sector Experience with events, fundraising and community engagement Desirable Experience working with community service agencies Proven ability to build relationships with variety of stakeholders, and delivering high quality written and verbal communications An understanding of the development of content communications and marketing material is accordance with contemporary community sector practice and evidence An understanding of the marketing solutions for early childhood educational services Experience in applying the latest developments in media trends, technology and content marketing to build an organisation s profile and brand position Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with an ability to develop innovative and creative solutions to marketing problems Copy writing and editing skills, including experience in writing publications, newsletters and online content. Experience in event management, public relations and/or media relations. Other mandatory requirements 1. Current full Victorian Driver s Licence 2. 5 Conditions and Remuneration Salary Attractive salary and conditions between $91,109 and $94,678 depending on qualifications and experience. Salary sacrifice as per government legislation and superannuation in accordance with the Bethany Enterprise Agreement. Ordinary Hours Hours of work will be Monday to Friday, to be worked between agency hours of 8am to 7pm. Status Full time 38 hours per week Conditions Qualifying Period Travel Physical Requirements Mandatory Requirements Right to work in Australia Other conditions of employment as per the Bethany Enterprise Agreement. This position is subject to a minimum employment period (6 months qualifying) during which time the employee's suitability for ongoing employment will be assessed. Travel will be required to other Bethany offices and across the Barwon South West region and other locations.
