1 WASH Facilitator Location: [Africa] [Rwanda] Town/City: Kabuga Category: Water, Sanitation and Health (WASH) JOB OPPORTUNITY WASH FACILITATOR World Vision International (Rwanda) is a child focused Christian humanitarian organization implementing development programs in 15 Districts of Rwanda. World Vision Rwanda seeks to hire a highly qualified, dedicated and experienced national for the position of WASH Facilitator. The position will be based in Nyamagabe District and reporting to the Economic Development Coordinator for THRIVE Project. Purpose of the position: Implement WASH activities effectively along with district offices and the community so as to improve wellbeing of the children and their families. The major responsibilities include: Grant management function in Nyamagabe District

2 Planning of WASH activities, initiating yearly plans following the set THRIVE project logframe, allocating funds and engaging the district in shared projects Ensures all the activities planned are done within the stipulated time and budget. Also, ensure that the beneficiary targets are reached and most vulnerable communities are targeted. Reporting WASH activities from the implementation area, capturing the data required for reporting and documenting success stories, innovations and best practices Assist in monitoring and evaluation activities and development of M&E reports highlighting progress of implementation and recommending key areas requiring redress Ensuring coordination, build and strengthen strategic linkages, relations, collaborations and networks with other WASH partners to increase WASH services coverage. Leading implementation of technical WASH aspect of THRIVE project in Nyamagabe district With a strong and routine partnership with different stakeholders; assess, identify and analyze WASH problems, views, feelings and needs of the community to propose/design possible solutions in line with THRIVE project logframe Engage in the preparation, designing and contextualization of appropriate guidelines, training manuals and standards, educational materials and promotional tools for WASH activities. 3 Plan, facilitate and conduct THRIVE WASH activities using recommended technical standards for Rwanda in collaboration with all stakeholders (WASAC, RAB, REMA, MoH, MINEDUC and community health workers) to the targeted villages/communities to improve social economic status of targeted beneficiaries. Closely follow up and monitor WASH activities implementation and their output/outcome with targeted community and schools to identify corrective measures resulting. Actively organize and partake in national or other WASH mass campaigns in line with THRIVE project logframe. Initiate, plan and provide training to target beneficiaries. Promote major cross cutting themes including environment, gender, protection, disability, peace building and Christian commitment to ensure that all children and families are participating and benefiting from THRIVE Project interventions. Assist/support communities to organize themselves for program participation and decision-making, provide technical support, trainings and advices to strengthen WASH activities within the operation area. Other functions Carry out assessments related to WASH and share results for advocating and leverage the existing resources within the cluster to develop WASH sector Engage in development of WASH concept notes and proposals for funding

4 and growth WASH portfolio Organize the community to ensure the sustainability of WASH schemes/facilities Create networking and partnership with relevant partners to enhance WASH activities. Plus any other assignment given by line management or senior leadership Other Competencies/Attributes: Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities. Attend and participate in daily devotions. Perform other duties as required. Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience The following knowledge, skills and abilities may be acquired through a combination of formal training, self-education, and prior experience or on the job training Minimum Qualification required: Qualification required: Bachelor degree in Environmental related fields (preferably environmental engineering or health) with 5 years experience on water, sanitation and hygiene area.

5 Experience with water related projects. Computer literate: Micro Soft word, excel and internet Other NGO experience will be also an asset Must have a Motorcycle driving permit. Experience: At least five (5) years work experience in implementation of development projects Two years project management experience Working Environment / Conditions: Work environment:-based in Nyamagabe district for close interaction with the community.
