1 Provincial Coordinator - Education Location: [Africa] [Burundi] Town/City: Bujumbura Category: Field Operations Mission of the position: To provide technical and coordination leadership and facilitate the implementation of the PACEF project through its processes: planning, monitoring, evaluation, reporting and partnership in line with WVI/Bs standards and guidelines, NO strategy and contractual commitment with UNICEF. Ensure cycle 4 teachers, inspectors, advisors and headmasters of basic education (fundamental) are trained as planned in the project document. Major Responsibilities Project management Coordination, planning, implementation, leadership and strategizing the execution of project in his/her region with respect to WVI/B and UNICEF agreement Building Capacity: In collaboration with the MoE, project team and WVI/B education staff, coordinate the PACEF in technical implementation while coordinating targeted trainings to the MoE staff, developing tools on a regular basis to facilitate timely and quality delivery of the projects deliverables Monitoring, Evaluation & Planning: Page 1/5

2 Ensure that planning, implementation, monitoring & evaluation, and reporting processes are done as per project timelines; participate at developing tools that will facilitate effective implementation and quality of project deliverables Technical input: Initiate/Review, provide input to the project strategies and raise all PRFs according to the needs of his region, supply and delivery of all materials and services, and all other necessary inputs to successful project outcomes, working with relevant WV departments in the limit of the committed budget. Information Management: Document and Keep accurate and up-to-date records of all the project documents, resources, lessons and good practices, and facilitate their circulation and use within the NO, across the partnership and with partners. Innovation Contribute at introducing new and innovative practices, methodologies or concepts to feed the WVB Education programme, Enhance the expansion of teachers capacity building interventions and collaboration with the ministry of education. Building Partnerships: Pursue and develop meaningful and formal partnerships with decentralized Government services at provincial, commune and school levels. Other Competencies/Attributes: Page 2/5

3 Must be a mature, committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities. Perform other duties as required. Qualifications : Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training: Minimum Qualification required: Degree in Education (IPA5 or ENS5, Psychology et sciences de leducation), social sciences, development studies, Experience: 3 years managing an education project, preferably in a senior position, having participated in cycle 4 of the basic education (ecole fondamentale) is a plus Technical Skills & Abilities: Excellent facilitation and coordination experience, especially in the education sector Fluency in French and English. Excellent project management skills and good understanding of the project life cycle Excellent understanding of best practice Education and life skills approaches in community development Experience with development project management tools such as log frames, monitoring and evaluation tools and budgets. Excellent training, mentoring and coordination skills Page 3/5

4 Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report-writing and formal communication skills. Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Word and Excel) and Lotus Notes (or another main system such as Microsoft Outlook). Strong negotiation skills. Cross-cultural sensitivity, flexible worldview, and ability to work with a wide range of people from different backgrounds. Emotional and spiritual maturity and ability to lead a team of professionals. Good understanding of World Vision and Sphere relief standards. Knowledge of and adherence to the Red Cross and NGO Code of Conduct. Ability to exhibit exemplary lifestyle as interpreted in specific local cultural context. Working Environment / Conditions: Domestic Travel: 90% Regular internal travel to the two zones and NO is required. On call: 10% In emergency and disaster situations, the position will be required to be oncall.
