Preliminary roles at the World Council and preparation. What will the change agents do? 1. Be an active member of your national delegation (for all) (full time) 2. Lead the 4 group time sessions (for all) (8 hours) 3. Take part in the Sending of Change Agents Ceremony during Our Journey performance (for all) (30 min) 4. Support the full integration of non-change agents in the programme (for all) (full time) 5. Speakers, characters and other roles in the performance (selective group) (2 hours) 6. Support the Opening Ceremony (selective group) (1 hour) 7. Support the orientation session on Group Time Sessions (selective group) (30 min) 8. Take active part in the Change Agents Meeting after the World Council. (for all) (2 days)

Is that all? - No. Change Agents can have more roles and leadership opportunities as much as the other participants. Those opportunities will become available via your national YMCA or in communication for all attendees of the event. (ex: Devotions, Learning Sessions, Announcements, Plenary etc) It s also important to remember that the World Council does not only start in June The whole strategy consultation needs your active participation and this process has already started. 4d Let us now see it piece by piece.

Be an active member of your national delegation (for all) National YMCAs usually organize briefing process to understand the programme of the event, the elections process and other travel details. It s very important for the change agent to be involved tuned with his/her YMCA in order to benefit and support this preparation. Support the full integration of non-change agents in the programme (for all) Change Agents wont be the only young people in the World Council and it s very important for us to support their full integration of all YMCA people in the event. We don't want to create sensation that change agents are one elite with special status. It s your responsibility to make sure they fully engage and understand you role as change agents. They may become the next ones! Be inclusive of all. Every time you see someone lost, young or adult. Make sure to be of assistance!

Support the Opening Ceremony (selective group) The World YMCA Team is designing the opening ceremony and your help may be needed once this part of the programme takes shape. For this specific activity a smaller number of change agents, will be selected in partnership with your area YMCAs and national YMCAS to participate. Support the orientation session on Group Time Sessions (selective group) On the next slides you will see in more details how the Group Time Sessions will work. All delegates of the World Council will be briefed in a 30 minutes orientation. A selected group of change agents will work with one consultant on this orientation Take active part in the Change Agents Meeting after the World Council. (for all) On July 5 and 6 Change Agents will stay on to plan for implementation of our future strategy. This is a meeting in parallel with the National General Secretary meeting and there will be joint moments between the groups for discussions about the implementation of strategy and the future of the movement. We will also evaluate and debrief the Change Agents experience.

Speakers, characters and other roles in the performance (selective group) As you have heard before, we will have a big collective performance for all participants of the world council. This performance will be all about our YMCA collective story. A travel to parts our history and a vision of our collective future as a movement. Imagine something like a participatory musical where the audience interacts and is part of performance itself. It will also become a nice video for people to bring home and maybe do the same in their countries! Some change agents will be invited to have more specific roles in this performance as potential characters, to speak etc. The role will become clearer once the script is produced and will gain shape in the next months. It may also be necessary to contribute with material and content for all the pre-produced elements. Specific calls will be made on this regard.

Take part in the Sending of Change Agents Ceremony during the big performance (for all) The World Council of YMCAs will be an important landmark for all change agents of this generation. For that reason, we will integrate some kind of graduation ceremony. The performance will show the beginning of a long team journey towards a brilliant YMCA collective future which will culminate with Change Agents Leadership engagement and strategic integration with the movement as a whole. We also want to highlight you for your dedication to this process and the investment made by your YMCA and yourself. We will do so, with an artistic and symbolic perspective.

Lead the Group Time sessions (for all) Everyday, for 2 hours, a group up to 20 people will meet (same group everyday) to develop a series of activities following a structured script. Each of the 70 expected groups will be lead by a team of maximum 3 change agents + one other leader of the YMCA movement. In order to prepare for that task, the teams of change agents + other 1YMCA leader will be assigned to work and communicate in advance in the months pre World Council. Those teams will support each other in getting ready because the script will include short presentations, ice-breakers, facilitation of discussions etc. Your team will need to learn together and decide upon the responsibilities. The change agents will also capture inputs of the groups in the implementation of the future global strategy and will have it as a content to feed the Change Agents and NGS meeting that comes right after the World Council.
