1 ROLE PROFILE Job Title: Group Data Manager Location: Exeter Department: Data Hours of Work: 9.00am to 5.00pm Reports to: Chief Operations Officer Version: 0.2 The main purpose of the job: To help create, develop and deliver a long-term data strategy for Landmark Group Companies in order to gain competitive advantage, through the management of data suppliers and the delivery of data to Landmark s systems. The role is primarily identifying new opportunities in data and managing data suppliers to maximise the opportunities to Landmark through negotiation. The post holder will be expected to undertake regular reviews of current contracts with an eye to improving and minimising the levels of royalties paid by Landmark, either through renegotiation or through recommended product changes. The post holder is also required to efficiently maintain Landmark s current data holdings. Main tasks of the job (in order of priority): % of time spent Strategy To establish a strategy for the data service that will be provided for the Landmark Group Companies. To work in partnership with the data suppliers in order to maximise the opportunities open to Landmark through negotiation, Joint Ventures and strong relationships. To continuously strive towards better ways of working in relation to Landmark s new and existing data processes. Work with COO and the IT manager to schedule product development. Data Ensure that Data projects are planned and executed to schedule. To maintain excellent relationships with existing data suppliers through regular meetings to ensure regular data updates and information on the market and to identify new opportunities. To source new data and instigate the processing of new data To make Landmark aware of new opportunities in data. To provide an excellent data maintenance process, ensuring currency and efficiency in data for existing products. To be a centre of expertise regarding data that is available to other departments

2 Contract & Supplier management Working with the Finance Director to negotiate contracts with data suppliers on appropriate commercial terms, and ensure compliance with such contracts. To liaise with internal management over contracts, new data and market intelligence from data suppliers. Act as the internal contact to investigate queries or complaints relating to data supply contracts. Be a source of knowledge regarding data contracts. To obtain flexible contract terms to facilitate new product development. To be responsible for the storage of all contracts and licences, their availability and update. To maintain the data contract and delivery element of the LIG product development plan. Other Ensure any agreed training and skill development is undertaken. To identify and develop business opportunities and filter to appropriate Group Company. To be responsible for the Data Strategy budget which includes Royalty payments. Other duties as specified by the COO & Finance Director. 4 Qualifications & Training Essential/Desirable Selection Method Educated to degree level Proven industry experience, with a minimum of 3 years at senior management level, with experience of data processing, database usage and product development experience. Competencies Essential/Desirable Selection Method Technical: Demonstrates commercial acumen in the Data Management arena. Experience of delivering new aggregated data products and new data sets. Knowledge, experience and understanding of environmental risk, planning, land use, the spatial context and mapping. Good appreciation of the issues that surround data, such as coverage, cleaning and geocoding. Demonstrates excellent report writing skills. Leadership: Good practical management experience of management. Experience of co-ordination and/or management of a range of projects. Behavioural: Negotiation experience at very senior level. A proven deliverer. Excellent interpersonal skills ability to communicate clearly and promptly. Can build effective informal and formal communication channels at all levels, both internally and externally. Shows confidence and inspires others. High levels of energy, creativity and resolve. Organised, articulate, accurate, self-motivated and able to work on own initiative.

General measurements of success Develop good working relationships with Divisional MDs and head of IT. Data strategy agreed, successfully implemented and delivered. Renegotiating contracts successfully. Successful negotiation of audits by data suppliers. Successfully create and maintain centralised document management system for contracts and licences. Create consistent standards across the company regarding licences, contracts. Ensuring that LIG employees are aware of contractual requirements and LIG s position.
