DEMOCRATISE YOUR DATA WE BUILD DATA-DRIVEN ORGANISATIONS THROUGH EDUCATION 20 Our cohorts average around 20 fellows, meaning you ll have strong presence and network of data specialists within your organisation from the outset. 0 The Data Fellowship is an accelerated technical development programme for high-potential employees across enitre organisations. We believe everyone at your organisation should have the power to make data-driven decisions. Our unique programme is designed to create data champions that increase your organisation s data maturity through a grassroots approach. We ve developed our curriculum in accordance with the UK apprenticeship standard for data analysts, meaning the full cost can be covered by Apprenticeship Levy funds. The Fellowship is funded entirely by the government s new Apprenticeship Levy. 50% female We are proud that our cohorts are at least 50% female and strive to ensure they are representative of the diversity of people within your business.

DON T GET LEFT BEHIND LEVERAGE YOUR DATA TO MAINTAIN YOUR COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE More data has been produced in the last two years than in the entire history of the human race. Organisations have more information about their clients, customers and business than ever before, and slowly they are figuring out how to gain actionable insights from their vast data pools. It s increasingly important to make sure you leverage this resource at every level. In a world of fast-moving startups and competitors, data-driven decision-making is no longer a competitive advantage it s a necessity.

Data in the hands of a few data experts can be powerful, but data at the fingertips of many is what will be truly transformational. Forbes, March 2017

THE LEVY TAKE A DIFFERENT APPROACH BUILD YOUR DATA CAPABILITIES USING EXISTING LEVY FUNDS Since April 2017, UK employers with an annual payroll of > 3m have been required to pay an additional 0.5% payroll tax (the Apprenticeship Levy) which can be claimed back on approved training programmes like the Data Fellowship. Levy funds can be used to train anyone in your organisation. Our cohorts are made up of new and existing employees, entry-level and senior management and just about every department and function. MAKE EVERYONE A DATA ANALYST We have developed the Data Fellowship to be a new standard in onthe-job skills training, meaning everyone can learn data skills without leaving their day jobs. Our programme is designed to be: 1. Integrated The Fellowship fits seamlessly into fellows day-to-day responsibilities, with approximately 8 hours of learning and business-relevant project work each week. 2. Immediately applicable Fellows can immediately apply their learnings to the business, making impact from within the first month of training. 3. Business-led The Data Fellowship team work closely with our partner organisations to ensure the programme furthers wider data ambitions.

BEYOND THE BASICS COURSE CONTENT DATA ANALYSTS WHO THINK LIKE DATA SCIENTISTS FUNDAMENTALS Basic data analysis using R Git and GitHub Big data analytics and the role of the data scientist The data analytics lifecycle Being a data analyst is more than knowing how to transform and manipulate big data sets. It s about having a scientific mindset and making decisions based on evidence. Our curriculum teaches Fellows the broad range of techniques used by data analysts and scientists at the world s most exciting companies and institutions, also focussing on project management techniques favoured by their digital teams. Most importantly, beyond gaining these impressive technical skills, we will shift mindsets to emphasise scientific process in business contexts. ADVANCED CONCEPTS EMERGING TECH PROJECT MANAGEMENT Clustering Association rules Regression Classification Time series analysis Text analysis Technology and tools Machine learning* Artificial intelligence* Deep learning* Operationalising analytics projects Data visualisation techniques Agile development* DATA SCIENCE AT YOUR COMPANY Company tools* Access to data* Learning opportunities* Data ethics* * These topics go above and beyond the Data Analyst standard

IN YOUR OWN TIME RECOMMENDED TIMELINE WE CAN TRANSFORM YOUR ORGANISATION ON A SCHEDULE THAT SUITS YOU The Data Fellowship is typically an 18-month, part-time programme that Fellows dedicate about one day per week to, delivered over the course of 4 agile sprints. We appreciate this delivery schedule won t work for all organisations. For that reason, we ve built our content to be modular. This means we can rearrange the curriculum, change the delivery timeline or even create extra content to satisfy your requirements. FOUNDATION 1 MONTH BOOTCAMP 3 DAYS SPRINT 3 MONTHS X 4 ASSESSMENT 1 MONTH Get everyone up to speed and aligned with 1 month crash course in statistics and programming. Fellows will take a few days out of the office to meet their new community, learn the basics of data science along with the tools used throughout the course and complete their first project. Every three months, fellows will complete 2 or 3 learning modules in pairs, 3 job-relevant data projects and join high-paced hackathons to build up their portfolio. Finalise your portfolio, create your own synoptic project, get an EMC Data Science Associate qualification and walk the stage at graduation.

DO WHAT EXPERTS DO EXPERT GUIDANCE LEARN WITH KAGGLE, GITHUB AND R, NOT AN ARTIFICIAL LEARNING ENVIRONMENT Fellows dive head-first into the world of data science, using tools like Github from day one. All of our course content is delivered via industry tools rather than closed coding environments that have limited applicability outside of contrived learning modules. We supplement online learning with compelling in-person workshops and mentorship sessions. EACH COHORT HAS A TEAM OF PASSIONATE DATA EXPERTS Each of our cohorts is supported by its own dedicated team of individuals with a variety of skills and industry experience. The learning experience is more than just teacher-student. Each cohort gets its own team of mentors, coaches, community and mindfulness experts to guide them through their journey towards becoming qualified data analysts.
