2 Why Project Management? The purpose of this course is to expose delegates to the philosophy of project management as a unique, specialised discipline of leadership and management. The course will introduce certain selected project management concepts and terminologies and provide an overview of the whole project management body of knowledge (the PMBOK Guide). It will also enable delegates to solve practical problems and apply some of the basic project management tools and techniques. The course will help delegates to attain knowledge of the principal aspects of project management and to prepare them for further more advanced programmes. Why should you attend? The course has been structured to introduce delegates to Project Management Skills allow them to apply these skills in a practical assignment after the 3 (Three) day interactive programme as well as proving the delegates learning in a series of tests. The skills that the delegate will develop will be applied during the course in group activities and in the course assignments. We will provide you with coaching support for these activities. We do not encourage you bringing your notebook computer. Please switch you cellular phone to silent and do not talk on the phone to avoid distracting others in the training. The training cost does not include accommodation or transport to or from the venue. In cases where training is done over a period of two or more days, we will provide you with a list of venues for accommodation, with negotiated rates. You are responsible for arranging your own accommodation. This will be provided to you once your registration is confirmed after payment. Upon submission of the registration form and proof of payment we will send you an with the details of the venue. If you wish to book a place you can do so by forwarding us the registration form. Payment needs to then be made within 7 working days. If proof of payment is not received within 7 days, you will forfeit the space. All payments must be made 7 days before the start of the training.
