I joined Mercer as a graduate and throughout my career I have been able to work across a number of different areas, held various leadership positions and been involved in developing new solutions for our clients. I have also managed to fit in having two children and balance the various demands on my time. EMMA HILL BSc Psychology and Management, University of Leeds Like many undergraduates, I had no clear view of what career I wanted to pursue after university. Having enjoyed some exposure to HR during my year in industry, I realised that I wanted a role with slightly more variety. I saw Mercer at a careers fair and discovered the option of becoming a Talent Analyst it seemed to offer the flexibility, variety and autonomy I was looking for. You are constantly working for different clients, each with their own complexities. It can be a high-pressure environment at times, but there s a supportive culture here and people are always willing to share knowledge and help out. My learning curve throughout the graduate scheme has been extremely steep, combining practical work with a range of off and on-job training. Regular reviews help you reflect on what you want to achieve in the year ahead and beyond. In my case, Mercer has paid for me to undertake a part-time Masters in Human Resources Management, which will also give me CIPD accreditation on completion.

Mercer really invests in your development and offers a great training programme I have already completed the Investment Management Certificate and also passed the level 1 exam of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) programme all in my first year as a graduate. More importantly though, Mercer nurtures knowledge, confidence and collaboration. I love the platform that Mercer has given me to develop my career and I know everyone says it, but for me, it really is the people that make it. Everyone is friendly and welcoming and I ve made some great friends.

9 Graduates We have graduate roles across many different locations across the UK and Ireland. The roles span across our Health, Wealth and Careers business. The graduate programme provides candidates with a choice of qualifications and a pathway for them to decide what way they want their career to go. You will also have the opportunity to work together with other Graduates in various offices and different divisions on projects designed to enhance your experience and industry knowledge. Internships If you re in your penultimate year of study, why not get a taste of working for a multinational consulting firm by applying for our internship programme? Each summer we offer internships across many of our UK locations in Health, Wealth and Careers. The eight week programme runs from the beginning of July to the end of August. Throughout the programme you will get involved in client projects, be assigned a buddy to make sure you settle in quickly and help with day-totoday work queries. In addition, you will have an experienced consultant acting as your supervisor to assist you while you develop and learn over the course of the internship. You will also have the opportunity to work together with other interns in various offices and different divisions on projects designed to enhance your intern experience and industry knowledge. Apprenticeships Mercer Apprenticeships don t just offer a job, we offer a career. With a Mercer Apprenticeship, you will receive training and support to allow you to learn on the job, develop your technical expertise and obtain universally recognised and respected industry qualifications. Our Apprenticeship offers a competitive salary and great benefits all whilst working for a global company that really invests in its employees. Three year apprenticeships are offered within Retirement, Investments and Retirement Administration, and you will complete the Level 4 Investment Operations Specialist, Level 4 Actuarial Technician or Level 3 Workplace Pensions Apprenticeship. In addition, you will complete the relevant Professional Examinations (for which you will receive half a day s study leave per week). Mercer will provide full study and personal development support to guide you through your Mercer Apprenticeship and kick-start your career. On completing the Mercer Apprenticeship you may be invited to join Mercer s Graduate Scheme where your learning and development will continue. Placements To help you gain early insight into Mercer, we may have opportunities for you to join us on a placement programme in some of our UK offices. For example, we offer 15-month placements within our Retirement Service Centre. Starting in June, these are a great opportunity for you to learn more about the world of pensions as well as fully understand the role of a Retirement Analyst by gaining experience in a supportive team environment. You ll get exposure to global projects and have the opportunity to understand how the work you do impacts on Mercer and our clients.

All Wealth graduates will complete the IMC in the first three months and then go on to a chosen exam route. Exams include CFA, IoFA, PMI and CIPD. Support All graduates will be located in the specific location they have applied to but will have the option to rotate across different areas of the business. Each graduate will be supported by a graduate manager, buddy and placements manager throughout the programme. Locations London, Woking, Bristol, Birmingham, Liverpool, Leeds, Manchester, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Belfast.
