1 Arkansas Section News September 2013 Local Section News The new Arkansas Section Chair, Dr. James Steuber brings news from the Section Leadership Training (SLT) in Phoenix, AZ. Sections from District E gathered in August to discuss changes in ASME and to share best practices for developing and serving our local sections. In addition, section leaders present attended the ASME landmark dedication of the Big Surf Waterpark in Tempe, AZ. One notable change in ASME is the development and deployment of a new ASME.ORG website. The website is similar to LinkedIn (in fact you can import your profile from LinkedIn). Login to ASME.ORG today to create a professional profile and make connections and be sure to connect to the Arkansas Section Group! Message from the Outgoing Chair Greetings, Hello to all the members of the Arkansas Section of the ASME. I was honored to be asked to serve as Chairman for the previous two years. Your new officers for , I know, will serve the section well. I would like to welcome the new Arkansas Section Chair, Dr. James Steuber, to his current post. In addition, the new Arkansas Section Secretary is Phil Tawney. Phil is an Assistant Engineer in the Mechanical Performance group of the Arkansas Electric Cooperatives Corporation. I look forward to working with the ASME Arkansas Section Officers this year. Stay on the alert for the first meeting announcement. I was pleased to see and hear of all of the good works being performed by the student section advisors and leaders. Keep it up.
