The aim of this Professional Interview is to provide a holistic assessment in order to determine and validate the skills, knowledge and behaviours of the individual for the role as a Tunnelling Operative and to determine a grade, Pass, Merit or Distinction for the Apprentice. The interview questions have been developed by occupational representatives and are based on the Training Objectives for Tunnelling Operative. Interviewers are requested to use situation, task, analysis and result (STAR) to collect information from each individual. This professional interview is designed to draw an explanation from the individual. The individual is allowed to use audio and visual aids to demonstrate their experience, knowledge and behaviours if appropriate. Interviewers should determine the individual s future aspirations and report accordingly. This schedule is to be used as a guide, please present questions in a manner that suits the vocabulary of each individual, use the prompts as a guide and mark each question, questions with 0 marks need not be asked. Interviewers must make notes outlining each response. Once complete this schedule will be kept and may be used as evidence in the event of an appeal or an accident. 1 of 19
