1 JOB SPECIFICATION Job Title: Reporting To: Function: Job Location: Laboratory Analyst (Days) Process Quality Manager Quality, Technical & Blends Coleford Overview and Job purpose The timely sampling, testing and reporting of results for analytical, microbiological and packaging tests to meet site operational requirements and maintain OEE performance. A role which reports directly to the Process Quality Manager part of the Quality, Technical & Blends team. The Analyst is responsible for maximising the performance of the Laboratory Facility in relation to Safety, Quality and Delivery of test results. The Analyst will be skilled and knowledgeable enough to use all analytical, and packaging test equipment enabling a truly flexible team. Primary Interactions The Laboratory Analyst reports to the Process Quality Manager and interacts as necessary with key stakeholders: Quality, Technical & Blends Engineering Manufacturing Planning Logistics EHS R&D Suppliers External auditors as required Security Contract blackcurrant processors IT SBFE Packaging Quality Assurance (PQA) team based in Spain LRS Customer Complaints team Key Responsibilities Safety

2 Driving the health and safety culture to create a healthy and risk free working environment. Know and Comply with all work place health & safety regulations Ensure timely raising, escalating and closure of all ZAP related corrective & Preventative actions Conduct themselves safely at all times following standard operating procedures and wearing the relevant PPE as required for the task. Perform a daily safety audit of their area of responsibility (asset) and contribute to the line safety Gemba Quality Contributing to the achievement of World Class Manufacturing quality through quality system compliance and adherence. Know and Comply with all work place quality regulations Escalate any issues that might compromise Product Safety and Product Quality Carry out on line quality checks to the required standards on finished products, components and syrups. Operate to ISO standards through procedural and documentation compliance. Comply with LRS Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). Comply with LRS Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) Comply with the personal hygiene policy.. Responsible for maintaining the department working environment to defined GMP standards at all times Comply with defined 6S standards. Delivery The efficient sampling, testing and reporting of test results to LRS Coleford whilst ensuring GMP / GLP standards To maintain all line side analytical equipment ensuring that it is available for manufacturing operations across site Maintain the site calibration system ensuring that all line side equipment is calibrated Undertake all testing and reporting activities for Coleford services including effluent, water, CO2, Blackcurrants, etc Routine testing and approval of raw materials Routine testing and approval of packaging materials Routine Microbiological sampling and testing Trending and analysis of cleaning chemical solutions Analyse site water and effluent highlighting any irregularities so that corrective action can be taken Undertake training for line operators in analytical techniques / testing and sign off for competency Undertake ring testing with line side staff to verify results. Maintain repeatability and reproducibility scores Maintain records of testing, calibrations, out of specifications and investigations for the purposes of audit

3 Undertake analysis to support sites activities such as NPI / Diamond / Operational improvements / investigations / FIPs providing results as required. Maintain analytical SOPs Create reagents to ensure supplies to maintain line side testing regimes Maintain laboratory and other analytical areas hygiene, 6S and layout Support analytical weekly stock take and ordering Safe working practices and systems in all laboratory areas Analysis of Customer Complaints, reporting and investigation liaison with Manufacturing In the event of issues in Blends manufacture provide analytical support to maintain production schedule The timely delivery of data for the utility services to the site and highlight any issues to allow area owners to take appropriate corrective action Provision of data to support permit / consent agreements and ensure legal operation of the Coleford site Support L1, L2 and external audits of the Coleford site Ensuring that Manufacturing has maintained and calibrated equipment in order to support testing activities allowing for the release of product The effective training of the live side staff in Analytical techniques and SOPs for their areas including a ring testing regime to verify line side testing Operation of the SBFE Packaging Quality Assurance (PQA) programme People Development Commit to personal and team development through application of the PDR Process. 4 Equipment availability Equipment maintenance to plan Conformance to budget Technical Skills Required Strong Analytical skills, methodology, scientific technique, understanding of laboratory test equipment and its basic maintenance Knowledge of good laboratory practice EHS knowledge for the handling of chemicals, analysis and disposal of reagents Knowledge of calibrations practices / processes Strong scientific mind and ability to undertake routine testing whilst devising new protocols to meet the needs of work activity that will be varied and bespoke (eg line validation) Ability to train people in analytical techniques and tests Strong detail focus and ability to accurately repeat tests Strong computer skills with ability to work with Microsoft office programmes and bespoke automation software Good level of dexterity and capability to perform manual handling operations Ability to interpret production schedules and implement these into daily tasks to manufacture and release syrup to packaging Ability to understand Coleford operational demands and interpret these into daily action plans / activities that need to be completed to allow Coleford to meet production demands Ability to demonstrate a high level of credibility, integrity and resilience Ability to communicate, network, engage and influence people across the Coleford site Personal drive and effectiveness: positive, can do mentality, keen to find ways around obstacles and willing to explore all of the available resources in order to accomplish objectives. 5 Qualifications and Professional Experience Ideally a degree in biological sciences, chemistry, food science microbiology or related scientific discipline. Or practical experience in a manufacturing environment working with food or beverage products
