1 JOB SCRIPTION/PRSON SPCIFICATION Job Title: Responsible to: Responsible for: Work Based Trainer Operations Manager / Team Leader N/A 1. Job Purpose: 1.1 To engage, work with and provide training for learners and support for employers to ensure all training solutions delivered meet both the requirements of the common inspection framework and any mandatory auditable processes. To deliver quality training in order to progress individuals through a period of learning that enhances their ability to perform their current role and improve their chances of career progression. 2. Key Responsibilities: Managing a caseload of learners ensuring timely achievement of their chosen qualification. nsure all learners are visited regularly as per their agreed learning plan (maximum every four weeks) in line with the guided learning hours of the qualification and where necessary additional visits are carried out to support any additional needs. Monitor learner s progression and ensure assessment for each element of the qualification is completed, enabling learners to meet achievement targets for all parts of their programme on time. Maintain learner records accurately both hard copy (if needed) and electronically and ensure all evidence for all visits is readily available and accessible for audit and quality purposes. Undertake pre-placement and start up visits in-line with agreed procedures. Undertake assessment and review (at each visit) with every learner in line with documented standards, system and strategy. Implement any improvements identified as a result of performance reviews and Internal Quality

2 Assurance sampling Undertake Internal Quality Assurance duties (where applicable) ngage employers in all learner reviews and promote a positive image of Workforce Skills and the Group. Proactively work with Operations Management and Business evelopment Consultants in order to maintain targeted caseload numbers in line with the &SFA contract value. Promote and monitor equality of opportunity and safe working practices as defined by Group policies. Attendance at WFS, Group meetings and training as required. To support new assessors and act as a mentor and work buddy when needed To actively support the company during assessor shortages by supporting caseloads out of region Other duties that may be reasonably assigned by the line manager. 3. Budget Responsibility: 3.1 The post has no specific budget responsibility other than the general requirement to ensure that any spending they are responsible for is undertaken in accordance with the Group s purchasing and financial regulations. 4. Continuing Professional evelopment: The post holder will proactively take part in the Group Appraisal process and will appraise any staff they are responsible for. The post holder must undertake all training deemed mandatory by the Group (e.g. Safeguarding, quality and iversity and Health and Safety) and will be expected to attend all other relevant training and continuous professional development events. They are responsible for their own professional updating 5. Health and Safety: 5.1 The post holder will be required: To take reasonable care to safeguard their own safety and that of others with whom they work; To cooperate with designated officers named by the Governors and/or the Principal and any other designated Institute manager to enable the Institute to comply with its obligations under Health and Safety legislation. 5 POST SCRIPTION Job Title: Responsible to: Responsible for: Assessor Operations Manager Not Applicable 1. Job Purpose: 1.1 To provide excellent facilitation of teaching, learning and outstanding assessment practices for learners, carrying out employer liaison, enrolment, initial assessment, recruitment, induction, monitoring reviews, supervision, functional skills and progress tracking of learners following Apprenticeship frameworks, QCF programmes or other accredited programmes at any of the Institute sites or within the workplace. 1.2 To develop new opportunities and grow the volume of apprenticeships in conjunction with the Business evelopment Team. 1.3 To ensure all aspects of the qualification and/or framework are completed in line with divisional key performance indicators. 1.4 To maintain and develop workshop/ centre/ facilities/ delivery resources in line with divisional requirements. 2. Key Responsibilities: 2.1 To embrace and positively promote the Institute Group s approach to supporting the Learner and mployer Journey. 2.2 To achieve 90% timely and overall success of qualifications whilst maintaining quality through monitoring of retention, attendance and achievement data. 2.3 To deliver high quality subject learning support and assessment to learners. 2.4 To maintain effective and professional relationships with employers and external agencies.

6 2.5 To work as an effective member of the delivery team. 2.6 To determine training required to complete all components of apprenticeship portfolios and liaise with employers and College staff to ensure delivery. 2.7 To agree a joint assessment programme between the learner, employer and College and carry out agreed assessments. 2.8 To supervise learners, check health and safety requirements within the workplace and any other learning environment and monitor ongoing safety. 2.9 To supervise learners in the use and operation of equipment and resources when required To make regular visits to the workplace to undertake reviews and track learner progress against targets and maintain accurate records of learner work and progress To assist learners with action planning and prepare individual programmes of study To carry out accreditation of recognised prior learning To complete relevant documentation concerning monitoring visits, in accordance with Institute Group and funding body requirements To advise and monitor the preparation of learners portfolios of evidence To develop Learning Support material and assessment systems as agreed with line manager To facilitate learning activities in a range of settings including workshop, classroom, learning centre, field visit, placement and any other learning situation To undertake Internal Verification duties To invigilate exams/assessments as and when required by the line manager To maintain consistently effective communication to and from Grimsby Institute Group Locations and workplace delivery locations through team meetings, operations manager and online systems mbrace the use of Virtual Learning nvironments, Smart Assessor and future technologies and resources to support learner progress, employer and team communications Undertake highly effective inductions, enrolment meetings, and initial assessments, facilitation of learning, assessment and tracking of learner progress against key performance indicators Work flexibility as part of the delivery team, contributing to the effective, efficient and quality assured processes, systems and procedures in order to ensure that a high quality provision is provided to learners, employers and other stakeholders.

Specific uties: 3.1 Act as an ambassador for the Group and take an active role in marketing activities including advice and guidance of learners, and attendance at promotional events e.g. Open venings/ ays. 3.2 nsure the learners experience is varied, enjoyable and achieves learning goals. 3.3 ffectively plan for and assess learners according to awarding body standards and Institute Group requirements and provide high quality and timely feedback to learners on all assessments. 3.4 Undertake cover for absent colleagues, in accordance with Institute Group Policy. 3.5 Liaise with employers concerning learner progress. 3.6 Positively promote and engage in enrichment activities with learners both as part of the curriculum and in centrally organised activities. 3.7 Participate in learner recruitment and induction activities. 3.8 Participate and provide support in organising outreach work associated with Workforce Skills LT and curriculum. 3.9 Participate in internal staff appraisal and appropriate staff development or training courses Contribute towards Institute Group Quality Assurance processes including Internal Verification/Moderation, Course Review, Self-Assessment and Quality Improvement Planning To carry out the role of First Aider ngage in industry and professional updating and/or scholarly activity in order to maintain high levels of technical knowledge and expertise in appropriate subject area Attend and proactively contribute to team, School, College and Institute Group level meetings Maintain effective lines of communication with learners, immediate colleagues, Institute Group Managers, cross functional teams and other stakeholders Liaise with the curriculum teams, as appropriate, for the purposes of good communication with trainees, apprentices and employers Perform such other duties as reasonably correspond to the general character of the post and are commensurate with its level of responsibility.

The post holder will be required to observe and comply with the financial regulations of the Group at all times.
