1 POSITION DESCRIPTION Senir Manager Strategic Directins and Planning REPORTS TO: GRADE/AWARD/LEVEL: WORK LOCATION: PROGRAM: WORKING WITH CHILDREN: Executive Directr Nn Award Head Office, Pennant Hills Executive Directrate Required PURPOSE Reprting t the Executive Directr (ED), the Senir Manager Strategic Directins and Planning (SMSDP) will identify, assess and deliver n grwth pprtunities and suitable funding fr CathlicCare. The psitin manages and participates in the bid management prcess and identifies and actively participates the use f best and prmising practice ensuring the measurement f utcmes is inherent in peratins. The SMSDP prvides relevant infrmatin in relatin t business pprtunities t the ED and the executive team, The SMSDP will be accuntable fr liaising with an external cmmunicatins agency fr all rganisatinal cmmunicatins and marketing cllateral needs with the assistance f a Cmmunicatins Liaisn. RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Executive Directrate Cmmunicatin with the Executive Directr: Cmmunicate effectively with the Executive Directr and all assciated psitins and Cmmittees. Infrmatin and trends: Prvide timely infrmatin and advice in relatin t new business pprtunities and scial care and funding trends within CathlicCare and mre bradly in the ntfr-prfit sectr and envirnment Executive Meetings: Participate and cntribute in executive meetings Advisry Cuncil and Finance Cmmittee/s: Cmply with in reprting t the CathlicCare Advisry Cuncil and Finance Cmmittee, in additin t the Dicesan Finance Cmmittee, as required. 2. Organisatinal Leadership Leadership Visin: Cntribute actively t the develpment, maintenance and brad cmmunicatin f the Missin Visin and Values f CathlicCare as a faith based nt-fr-prfit rganisatin. Mdelling and Reinfrcing: Adhere t the Missin Visin and Values f CathlicCare at all times, demnstrating vert cmmitment t rganisatinal directin t generate excitement, enthusiasm and cmmitment amng stakehlders and staff. Prject Management: Ensure apprpriate guidance and management f relevant business prjects. Wrk health & Safety: As a member f the Executive Management team ensure cmpliance with legislative requirements and prmtin f gd practices. Cnsistency: Ensure prpsed business related plicies and practices are cnsistent bth acrss new areas and with existing service areas. Cntinuus imprvement: Ensure all new business activities and participatin in existing business adheres t cntinuus imprvement principles. Change management: Participate in (and lead as required) rganisatinal change management prcesses, fr defined business area results. 3. Strategy and Management CathlicCare strategic planning: Facilitate the develpment, enactment and reprting f strategic plans and directins wrking cllabratively with the Executive Directr and Executive Team reprting and cmmunicating prgress frm acrss the rganisatin t stakehlders. Planning prcess: Develp, crdinate and executes business develpment plans fr CathlicCare in relevant cmmunities within the Dicese f Brken Bay, ensuring that prpsed activities are strategically aligned, financially sund, sustainable and apprpriate t the Missin, Visin and Values f CathlicCare. Business planning: Cntribute t the develpment f CathlicCare by prviding well funded analysis fr decisin, develping and cmmunicating plans and crdinating key initiatives using best practice prject management. Facilitate business planning prcess fr Scial Care peratins. Generatin f Revenue: Develpment f existing and new revenue surces, services and prducts, with assciated infrastructure prpsals, including new and sustainable funding streams, methds and mdels Innvatin: Identify, spnsr, supprt and prmte innvative prgram design best and leading practices and funding mdels and management practices within the rganisatin in relatin t new business pprtunities. Majr changes in cmmunity/gvernment attitudes/pririties: Develp required strategies that ensure the rganizatin is able t respnd and adapt t external changes. Measurement: research and recmmend utcmes, measurement ptins, best and prmising practice which demnstrates imprved client and cmmunity utcmes. 4. Business Develpment Grwing the rganisatin: Develp and versee executin f agreed business plans fr the cntinuing develpment and sustainability f CathlicCare, Bid Management: Lead and crdinate rganisatinal resurces t prepare and submit high quality (with the required chance f success and relevance t strategy) tender submissins. Reputatin as prvider f chice: Develp evidenced based services and prducts that CathlicCare can realistically deliver, that are cnsidered first chice by bth market defined service user grups and prgram planners. Prvider f chice: Develp medium/lng term prpsals that identify new markets, cmpetitive services and prducts that psitin CathlicCare at the frefrnt f the scial care sectr. Cmmunity partnerships: Develp linkages and relatinships with ther relevant rganisatins, grups and members f the cmmunity with a view t develping partnerships. 3 Nt-fr Prfit supprt and assistance: On an agreed basis with the ED, supprt existing and emerging nt-fr-prfit rganisatins and grups t develp and grw business develpment pprtunities and expertise Quality: Adhere t all quality standards and prcesses, fr the acquisitin f custmers, pprtunities and submissin f tender and cntract dcuments. Business Manager Supprt: Partner with Business Managers t ensure apprpriate strategies and plans are in place t best supprt cmpliance and cmmercial success f their business units 5. Internal and External Relatinships, Advcacy and Cmmunicatin Cmmunicatin within rganisatin: Ensure apprpriate and effective cmmunicatin with all emplyees in f CathlicCare regarding business related changes and new directins pathways being fllwed. Internal and external ther stakehlders including Gvernment: Develp and maintain strng and effective wrking relatinships within CathlicCare and Dicese f Brken Bay agencies, and with Federal, State and Lcal gvernment departments, agencies and funding bdies and regulatry representatives and peak bdies. Philanthrpic Opprtunities: Liaise with philanthrpic rganisatins identifying pprtunities t apply fr funding r develp relatinships t prvide resurces fr business ventures. Plicy advcacy: As agreed with the ED, use pprtunities t infrm, prpse and cntribute t debate n business related pririties, prducts and initiatives in rder t advance CathlicCare strategies in the business develpment dmain. Representatin: Ensure CathlicCare is represented n peak bdies, frums and wrking parties as agreed with the ED, fr the purpses f furthering CathlicCare aims and bjectives in the area f existing and new business develpment. Cmmunicatins: Liaise with the appinted external cmmunicatins agency ensuring relevant cmmunicatins, marketing cllateral, website, and intranet infrmatin is managed, updated and shared apprpriately between the rganisatin and external cmmunicatin agency. 6. Capacity Building & Sectr Develpment Cmmunity partnerships: Develp linkages and relatinships with relevant ther rganisatins, grups and members f the cmmunity with a view t develping partnerships which benefit client and rganisatinal utcmes.
