1 Position: Team Leader Marketing and Communications Purpose of Position The Marketing and Communications Team Leader is responsible for directly leading, mentoring and coaching the Marketing and Communications Team. They will support the uptake of project management methodology and empower a positive proactive team environment. Utilising their extensive marketing knowledge they will lead the team to achieve specific outcomes relating to the marketing and communication of Careerforce as a whole. This role will also provide design support across Careerforce as and when required. 2 Careerforce Key Result Area Strategic and business planning General Activities Contribute to the strategic and business development of Careerforce if/where appropriate. Overall performance Proactively contribute to Careerforce s overall achievement of key strategic priorities, significant projects, compliance requirements and quality processes. Support the development, implementation and review of Careerforce s policies and procedures. Risk management Identify risks and impacts, and identify, implement and review solutions. Project support Take a support role and contribute as required to project development and management. Performance Measures All identified tasks/areas of responsibility are managed in an effective and pro-active manner. Evidence of contributions to meeting key strategic goals and all compliance and QA requirements. Contributions to policies and procedures within scope of responsibility are evident. Risk management strategies/plans are developed and implemented. All assigned project support roles and responsibilities are undertaken and discharged successfully. 3 implement a digital media management strategy. Develop and maintain systems to effectively measure the use of the web as a marketing/ communications tool. Design Use briefing documents to create designs, concepts, and sample layouts based on knowledge of layout principles and aesthetic design concepts. Marketing, communications and brand consistency Careerforce promotional material Co-ordinate and oversee the work planning and implementation of marketing and communication activities Review and update brand guidelines and ensure brand quality requirements are supported across Careerforce. Review communications developed by the team to ensure that they are meeting the needs of the organisation Oversee the development of Careerforce promotional material (e.g. banners and branded items) and arrange updates. Overseeing contracts with external agencies in the development of Careerforce marketing and conference collateral. Health and Safety Act responsibly and proactively as required by current health and safety legislation and by: o Identifying and reporting new hazards and incidents and accidents through the HRSS (System we report into) o Undertaking health and safety training as required by management o Responding appropriately to emergency management and evacuations accurate, up-to-date and audience friendly, and provides clarity around Careerforce s activities. Regular reports on the use of the web site are provided. Designs deliver key Careerforce messages with high visual impact A yearly marketing and communications plan is developed and followed Brand quality and consistency of content is maintained through all communication channels. 4 Person Specification Essential Desirable Education, qualifications, training A tertiary qualification A degree or diploma in communications/marketi ng. Knowledge and experience Sound knowledge of and experience in product release process, including working with external suppliers. Experienced in marketing/communications. Evidenced ability to contribute to the development and maintenance of IT based communication channels. High level of computer literacy and well-developed working knowledge of , on- line applications, maintaining websites and MS applications. Previous database experience. Skills Proven ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and a wide range of external stakeholders. Excellent planning, scheduling, organisational and problemsolving skills, with an ability to meet quality outcomes (targets) and deliverables. Well-developed inter-personal skills. Well-developed written and oral communication skills; able to prepare formal written documentation which informs and engages different target audiences. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain such when working to tight deadlines. Attributes Commitment to ongoing improvement and high standards of customer service.
