2 The purpose of this training is to teach the Earnings Plan in an easy, fast-paced and very visual way. We will do this with a video that tells a story about some Consultants and their recruits and what they did One Sunny Afternoon in each week of a Bonus Period. In the story, everyone sells one special package that is 500 PPV one afternoon in each week. This makes it easy for Consultants to see the possibilities because it is easy to believe that anyone can make a sale of one 500 PPV special package one day a week and it also makes it easy to calculate. In the seminar, we look at the approximate earnings of 5 people at different levels of the Earnings Plan for this One Sunny Afternoon in each week of a Bonus Period (a Consultant, a Consultant with three recruits, a Team Builder, a Leader and finally a Senior Leader). As the story unfolds through the Consultant, Consultant with three recruits and Team Builder levels, participants learn how to calculate point earnings in the Plan. Next, as the training approaches the Leader and Senior Leader examples, participants learn 1, 2, 3, 1 the keys to maximizing the earnings plan. Then we go back to the story and learn how to move up in the leadership ranks. Very Important Notes: In order for Consultants to calculate their exact earnings, they would need to take the CV of all products shipped and then apply the percentages in the various ways to earn against the actual shipped CV. This seminar uses a shortcut to calculate approximate earnings by taking all the percentages of the different ways to earn and applying them against PV (Points). When you see a slide like this, pause the video and refer to the Trainer s Worksheet at the end of this Trainer s Guide Read this sentence at the bottom of the Trainer s worksheet and give the class the numbers that go in the blank spaces. Tell the class to write those numbers in. Then give the attendees the Annual Points, approximate annual earnings and monthly earnings. All this information is also on the Trainer s Worksheet.

3 We recommend that you show the participants how the calculations were done and suggest you write on a board as follows: NOTE: Points per Bonus Period X Bonus Periods per Year = Annual Points X Average CV per Point = $ Annual Earnings Months per Year = $ Monthly Earnings Annual Points are found by multiplying Points in the Bonus Period by 26 Bonus Periods in a year. The Annual Earnings are calculated by multiplying the Average CV Per Point times the number of Points earned in the year. The Monthly Earnings are found by dividing the Annual Earnings by We did not calculate the earnings by Bonus Period because it is more inspiring for the class to see the bigger picture what they can earn per month and per year. If you are asked for the Bonus Period Earnings, simply multiply the points earned in the Bonus Period by the average amount of CV per point. We are teaching this shortcut for the following reasons: 1. CV may vary slightly from year to year but, although the point value of a product/ package may change, Points, themselves, do not change. 500 Points is always 500 Points, so our example will always be relevant. 2. Using Points versus CV generally means the class can work with smaller numbers and this makes the calculations easier and less intimidating. 3. This method still teaches Consultants the many ways they can earn and how to determine what percentages they are entitled to in each of those ways. 4. The real purpose of this class is not to teach the attendees how to calculate their earnings exactly each Bonus Period. The value of this class to you and to the attendees is to help them understand that the way to unlimited opportunity is through recruiting, teaching others to recruit, building Qualified Groups and creating leaders who can create leaders. Why should they limit themselves to only what they can earn through their own efforts when they can earn on the efforts of a team as well? Optional: A way to really bring the training to life and make it a lasting memory for the attendees is to use real people to represent the people in the story. The Trainer asks for 5 volunteers from the front of the class to represent each of the Consultants/Leaders in the story (Consultant, Consultant with 3 recruits, Team Builder, Leader, Senior Leader).

4 The Volunteers stand up and face the class. Each is given a large card, at least 22 cm x 28 cm (8.5 x 11 ) (bigger is better). One side of the card has their level/ title and the other side has the approximate Annual Earnings and/or Monthly Earnings from the example. The print should be in very bright bold print so it can easily be seen from the back of the class. The volunteers are instructed to hold the card with the level/title facing the class and not to let anyone see the totals on the other side. They sit down as the calculations are being taught and then they stand up when asked to reveal their monetary earnings. They simply turn the card over to show their approximate earnings when told to do so. This creates a memory impression for attendees. While they logically realize that the person is only representing the character in the story, the memory impressions that stay with them are: A real person can make this kind of money A person just like me can do this Some things learned and tips for this seminar are: For those who do not have their Training Guide (AQ280): - Give the Blank Worksheet to the participants at the beginning of the class - When you get to the Easy as 1,2,3,1 portion of the training hand out the Easy as 1,2,3,1 Training Sheet At the very end of the seminar, give attendees the Trainer s Worksheet to keep in addition to their handwritten worksheet so they can compare and make any needed corrections. Instruct the class to write the numbers down on their blank worksheets as they are revealed in the video. It is very important to take the time needed to do it this way. It is through this repetition that they will learn how the calculations are done.. If it appears that not everyone in the class is writing the numbers down or if it seems as though they are having trouble writing the numbers with the speed of the video, pause the video and ask, Has everyone got their numbers written in? Then restart the video when they all have their worksheets updated. Where possible, get the class to calculate the answers and tell you before you reveal the answer. If you have brought some candies, throw them to people for giving you the correct answers. Adults learn better in a pleasant environment that allows participation, includes exercises, and respects the points of view and experiences others may share. We recommend you practice the seminar several times before giving it for the first time. Finally: Enjoy it! This is a very interesting seminar for both the trainer and participants. Most important of all, it will considerably help you develop your organization. Be prepared with all materials, read and practice the seminar, and visualize yourself having a successful seminar.
