Several of the utility s employees were injured. What lessons were learned and what steps have New Jersey Natural Gas taken after this incident. PREPARING FOR OSHA S SILICA DUST MITIGATION RULE. What are the components of their PSMS? How has it been adopted by their workforce? What are lessons learned from the implementation process? Join us and learn from an industry leader. 3:15-3:30 MANAGING THE RISKS OF GEOHAZARDS TO PIPELINES 3:30 4:30 Jen Holmstadt, WSB Pipelines intersect challenging landscapes that may negatively impact pipeline integrity. River systems, unstable slopes, and earthquakes are a few examples of hazards to pipelines. The presenter will discuss how these hazards can be effectively managed. Day 2 - October 13, :30 8:30 Registration and Continental Breakfast 8:30 9:15 LESSONS LEARNED: CORROSION CONTROL MANAGEMENT Speaker Invited According to PHMSA, between 2006 and 2010 twenty percent of all major pipeline incidents were caused by corrosion on the pipeline. How have our corrosion management programs changed? Two utilities will present an overview of their integrity programs and how they address corrosion risks. UNDERSTANDING AND MEETING THE REQUIREMENTS OF PHMSA S DIMP AUDIT FORM 24 9:15 10:15 Diana Camaiani, Vermont Gas and John Jacobi, G2 Solutions State and Federal regulators have begun utilizing a recently revised audit form. The panelists will discuss what is new on this form and how to prepare for DIMP audits using the form. 10:15 10:30 UPDATE ON PHMSA S MEGA RULE 10:30 11:30 John Jacobi, G2 Solutions The presenter will provide an update on PHMSA s efforts to finalize the major revisions to federal pipeline safety regulations for transmission pipelines that were proposed in The near-term and long-term impacts to pipeline integrity management programs will also be discussed. The practice of having one or more crew members make decisions on the quality of work is being questioned. What technologies are available that would allow for visual presentation of the field work performed for a subject matter expert s immediate approval. ROUNDTABLE 2:15 3:15 3:15-3:30 QUALITY MANAGEMENT OF A CONTRACTOR CONSTRUCTION CREW 3:30 4:30 Mike Hickey, Hallen Construction; Mark Albert, AGI Construction; others invited Creating a work crew is a complicated process that requires the assembly of the right people with the appropriate training. Once formed, processes and tools are in place to ensure the work performed by crews are done properly to customer standards. In this session, contractors will provide an overview of their quality management system for their construction crews. Knowing who is qualified, what tasks they can perform, who is inspecting, and managing their records is a crucial function for an operator and contractor. In this session, you will hear how a utility company and their contractor work together to handle this process. IMPLEMENTING A DIGITAL INSPECTION PROGRAM 9:15 10:00 Ed White, Field 2 Base; David Bailey, Black & Veatch The presenters will discuss how implementing an automated electronic field inspection data collection format can improve data collection accuracy and reporting, increase productivity, and lead to more timely failure root cause analyses. 10:00 10:15 LESSONS LEARNED: NGA S OPERATOR QUALIFICATION QA/QC PROGRAM 10:15 11:15 Paul Armstrong, Northeast Gas Association and Brad Wong, Independent Contractor Speakers will share lessons learned from quality audits performed of NGA s OQ knowledge and skill assessments. These lessons learned played an important role in the recent changes made to the program. What additional changes may we see to knowledge and skill assessment components and the QA/QC Program? Cancellations received 6 to 14 business days prior to the event will receive a refund, less a $100 administrative fee.
