In partnership with a community of investors and donors, RSF provides values-aligned capital to non-profit and for-profit social enterprises addressing key issues in the areas of Food & Agriculture, Education & the Arts, and Ecological Stewardship. Founded in 1936 as the Rudolf Steiner Foundation, RSF Social Finance began making loans to non-profit Steiner-inspired organizations in Beginning in the early 2000s, RSF began making loans to for-profit social enterprises whose intentions and values are compatible with RSF s mission. For over 30 years, RSF has consistently provided a positive return on investment for its investor clients. Today, RSF offers investing, lending, and giving services to individuals and enterprises committed to improving society and the environment. 3 3 The Social Enterprise Lending Team RSF Social Finance offers financial services with the intention of fostering community and collaboration among participants and generating positive social and environmental impact. Since 1984, RSF has made over $275 million in loans, and is the leading lender for social enterprises that seek a mission-aligned financing partner. The Social Enterprise Lending Program covers mortgage, construction, and equipment loans, as well as lines of credit. The loan fund is made possible by over 1,500 investors (both retail and accredited) who comprise a community committed to changing the way the world works with money. RSF works with non-profit and for-profit social enterprises that have a deep intention to use their economic activity toward broad public benefit and to advocate for change in their fields. RSF works with organizations incorporated in the U.S. or Canada with annual revenue above $1 million; loans generally range from $200,000 to $5 million. Senior-secured lending, along with management of philanthropic funds, remain at the core of RSF s work, but the Manager will be part of a growing initiative to create a nimble, creative funding approach that relies on more flexible and diverse forms of capital. The strategic shift towards integrated capital deployment will coordinate the use of different forms of capital for RSF s clients, including grants, equity investments, loans, loan guarantees, and other structures to support social enterprises.

4 Thrive Washington Chief Executive Officer RSF Social Finance I Manager, Social Enterprise Capital Developement The Opportunity Through deep collaboration with RSF s Client Engagement and Philanthropic Services teams, the Manager will contribute to an exciting evolution at the organization, and will help shape the integrated capital toolbox that will draw on a mix of financial capital, from investing, lending, and philanthropic funds as well as social capital to support RSF s clients. By breaking down the walls between investing, lending, and philanthropy, RSF will be working with organizations at many stages of the business lifecycle, and with those who might not otherwise qualify for traditional financing. RSF brings its values into practice with the view that finance is an essential driver for social change one that can build healthy, sustainable economies and communities. The Manager will be part of this unique and inclusive culture that fosters professional and personal development while tying together work and community in a deeply genuine way. Key Responsibilities The Manager will be joining a professional, mission-driven team, and will help advance the organization s goals to provide critical access to capital for path-breaking social enterprises. Along with fellow Managers and Associates in the Social Enterprise Lending group, this position will source new social enterprise lending (SEL) and program-related investment (PRI) borrowers, prepare initial term sheets and credit memoranda, and steward relationships with a portfolio of existing borrowers (both for-profit and non-profit). The Manager is also responsible for achieving portfolio balance targets, budgetary goals, and maintaining a portfolio of highly mission-aligned borrowers. Serving as a peer leader of business development and relationship management strategies for the portfolio, the Manager will respond to inquiries from prospective borrowers, develop relationships with and promote lending products to prospective clients, and conduct site visits with prospective borrowers. This position will also conduct due diligence and drive execution of funding through negotiation and complex deal structuring. Additionally, the Manager will collaborate with RSF s Credit & Loan Operations team to collect, analyze, and monitor existing borrower financial performance and compliance with all reporting and financial covenants, including social impact assessments. This position will also be contribute wisdom and expertise toward furthering RSF s integrated capital governance and deployment strategies. The Manager will develop cross-functional partnerships within RSF to continue building the systems, processes, and products for integrated capital deployment, and will be a key focal point for integrated capital donors. The Manager will also co-create new integrated capital products and solutions, provide high level advisory services for social enterprises, and structure deals using the broader toolkit of integrated capital.

5 Ideal Candidate RSF Social Finance is seeking a Manager with expertise in social lending and capital deployment, and who has a deep and genuine connection to this dynamic sector. Candidates must bring an understanding of how social enterprise / social sector organizations operate, especially the catalytic change levers they pursue to achieve impact. The Manager must see value beyond capital requirements and have the ability to evaluate the broader mission and impact of a client in its competitive landscape alongside financial statements and cash flow reports. The Ideal candidate will be an entrepreneurial and experimental thinker who is savvy about when to take risks. The Manager must be self-directed and comfortable working autonomously and within teams, and will bring a natural collegiality and collaborative disposition in order to proactively work across the organization in a distributed fashion. RSF operates with a fairly flat hierarchy and the successful candidate will be an accessible and participatory team member within this structure. It is essential that the Manager be highly flexible and adaptive to change someone who is comfortable living with complexity and ambiguity. RSF can be an exciting environment for those who enjoy initiating change, but they must also have the social and emotional intelligence to know when and how to do so. Most importantly, the successful candidate will have a natural curiosity about the ecosystem in which RSF operates and be enthusiastic about joining the journey of reimagining the role of money and finance. Manager must be able to combine intuition and data in order to assess opportunity and risk, as well as possess strong analytical skills in order to anticipate what might be coming. Candidates must have a professional background in senior secured debt, preferably in small-business lending, but broader capital deployment experience is ideal someone who can layer capital and think strategically about the right capital deployment mix for a given stage of an enterprise s development. Additionally, a knowledge of or experience with equity investing would be especially helpful, as is exposure to philanthropic family foundations / family offices engaged in deploying grants, investments, and other funding vehicles.a key component of the work is new business development. As such, the new Manager will enjoy building relationships and networks that go beyond surfacelevel interactions. This will require being savvy and adept at reading the marketplace and being responsive to opportunities as they emerge. While domain expertise in any of RSF s focus areas isn t necessary, it will certainly be advantageous if candidates can bring a robust network of contacts in these spaces. At a minimum, the Manager will be expected to review RSF s current networks with fresh eyes to spot untapped or dormant opportunities as well as employ a variety of strategies to expand RSF s network of potential borrowers. An unimpeachable sense of integrity and discretion is essential for the role. The Manager must exhibit mutual respect and trust, and be an authentic communicator. Outstanding relationship management and interpersonal skills are required along with the ability to connect big picture goals to a strong attention to detail and follow-through. Candidates should also have a discerning approach to learning in order to understand past decisions and avoid reinventing the wheel or going down an unproductive path.

6 RSF Social Finance I Manager, Social Enterprise Capital Developement Minimum Qualifications Candidates must have a minimum of seven years of experience in commercial lending, including financial and operational due diligence, credit structuring, and underwriting. Significant experience with difficult or complex loan deals as well as the ability to creatively work with clients on work-out and work-through plans is highly desirable. RSF seeks candidates who have a demonstrated commitment to the social sector, either through their professional endeavors or personal pursuits, including volunteer activities. An undergraduate degree is required, ideally in business, finance, or related field. An advanced degree, especially an MBA, is preferred.
