4 Ways to Study There are lots of options to gain your nationally recognised qualification through JSW School Based traineeship School-based traineeships are primarily designed for students in Years 11 and 12. The School-based trainee is paid for the time they spend in an employer s workplace typically during the school week up between 1 3 days per week. The remaining days are spent at school completing their year 11 or 12 certificate. Structured competency-based training is delivered by JSW in the workplace, at JSW premises and at school. Traineeship A traineeship combines training and paid employment, leading to skills and qualifications that are recognised across Australia and by other employers in the industry. Traineeships can be full-time or part-time and are available to anyone of working age. All the training and assessment is delivered on-site at the workplace during normal working hours. Trainees will generally be required to commit at least 2 hours per week to study. Sometimes JSW may run a workshop during work or after work hours to help you with your learning. Classroom Classroom Based Learning involves face to face contact between students and the Trainer at specific times and locations on a regular basis. The combination of presentation, demonstration, practice and interactivity makes this learning modality one of the most robust options available for learners who want to participate in group activities, group learning and group discussions. VET in Schools VET in Schools programs enable secondary students to undertake a nationally recognised VET qualification while completing their senior secondary certificate. Typically the training is undertaken during school hours at JSW or at another education approved facility by JSW.

5 External Fee for Service Do you have a range of study skills, self-motivation and reasonable independence to direct your study? External study is very flexible, but this means you need to foster self-discipline in organising your study time, so as to pace yourself to meet your assessment deadlines. Workshop A workshop is a single, short educational program designed to teach or introduce participants to practical skills, techniques, or ideas which they can then use in their employment. Typically a workshop will be conducted so that it covers components of a unit of competency or on particular topics. The workshop may lead to a statement of attainment if the student undertakes formal assessment. There may be a number of people in your business that can come together for a series of training sessions in your workplace. Similarly, JSW may bring a group of students together who are already enrolled.
