3 Fatila Carrol Assistant Project Manager Degree: BEng Civil Engineering Joined BCM: October 2016 CASE STUDY Fatila joined us in October 2016 as a Document Controller and Administrator becoming a clerical specialist managing various aspects of document control. She quickly progressed in her role and was promoted in May 2017 to Assistant Project Manager. Why is the programme for graduates? BCM respect the opinion of newly qualified graduates and your fresh insight on the industry. BCM provides: Exciting opportunities. Fast track career progression. Developing skills in multidisciplinary fields of the company because we are small we are required to be flexible touching on several aspects of the business. Working groups and committees facilitate a learning and social environment.

4 What is the BCM Intern Programme? Programme established: 2015 In 2017 / 2018 we are bringing in 6 students / graduates Placements 2017: Formats of placements: sandwich year, graduates with 1-year fixed-term contracts, with opportunity to become permanent. 5 The Process: Engagement and Attraction Directly with Universities (Kingston University, London South Bank University, Greenwich University) Job boards and social media Assessment Placement Assessment day Keep in touch Group assessment with case study + individual interviews Implementation of PMP cycle to support development Planned and regular training Clearly outline roles and responsibilities defined by Line Manager Short assignments and shadowing across all departments to get broader business understanding, arranged by Student Mentors Student Mentors in each department whose role is to help and guide students Clear communication strategy

6 Programme Outline: Functional Excellence Knowing the Business Processes Every student / graduate get a job description with defined roles and responsibilities Reports into assigned Line Manager as any other employee Roles are identified based on business needs, students competencies (identified during assessment), applicability to Degree and career aspirations Assigned Mentors from each department Short assignments in every department Every student is trained on BCM s processes & procedures, culture as part of Onboarding Program / Company Induction and individual sessions Participates in PMP cycle, including objectives setting / review and Candid Career Conversations Gets necessary technical and softskills training
