2 Step 1: Introductory Information Policy Statement: It is the policy of the Commission that all aspects of personnel management and employment practices will be conducted without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, disability, or political affiliation (except where a bona fide occupational qualification regarding a particular position applies). The Commission adopts as part of this policy the provisions of the Governor's Executive Order on Equal Employment Opportunity. 3 Step 4b: Narrative of Interpretation We have reviewed and acknowledge the following areas that are under-represented in the Virginia Workers' Compensation Commission: White males were under-represented in the following job categories: Officials/Administrators (-24) and Administrative Support (-14). Our organization will review all employment organizational data related to the Officials/Administrators and Administrative Support job category to identify any issues that may pose barriers for white males (e.g., review the records of exit interviews of former employees; examine applicant flow data for recent vacancies; review job posting and advertising practices; determine whether there are in-house career paths; evaluate hiring, retention and attrition rates for particular positions, particular offices, or regions). Step 5: Objectives and Steps 1. To encourage white males to apply for vacancies in the Officials/Administrators job category. a. The Virginia Workers' Compensation Commission will attempt to identify any concerns that may create obstacles for certain races or genders. Our Human Resources Office will continue to assist supervisors in developing job-related selection criteria for the interview process to assure that the best qualified candidate is recruited and selected for open positions. All job openings are advertised in the Virginia Recruitment System and by to all employees. Positions are also advertised on job boards, Colleges/Universities or other facilities when requested by the hiring manager. All job announcements are advertised with the following: Equal Opportunity Employer; Women, minorities, and persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply. 2. We will notify all employees, by , that the EEO Utilization Report is available in the Human Resource Department, on Employee Portal and on the Human Resources Department announcement board.
